Biffy Clyro are a Scottish Rock music, rock band that formed in Kilmarnock, composed of Simon Neil (lead vocals, guitar) and twin brothers James Johnston (Scottish musician), James (bass, backing vocals) and Ben Johnston (Scottish musician), Ben Johnston (drums, backing vocals). Currently signed to 14th Floor Records, they have released nine studio albums, and following their first three albums, the band expanded their following significantly in 2007 with the release of their fourth album ''Puzzle (Biffy Clyro album), Puzzle'', which peaked at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and was awarded a Platinum certification by the British Phonographic Industry, BPI. The discography of Biffy Clyro, a Scottish alternative rock band from Kilmarnock, consists of nine studio albums, three live albums, seven compilations, one soundtrack, six extended plays (EPs), 43 singles, 37 music videos and six other appearances. That Golden Rule
"That Golden Rule" is the second single to be taken from Scottish alternative rock trio Biffy Clyro's fifth studio album, '' Only Revolutions'', released on 23 August 2009. The band describe the song as a mixture of prog and stoner rock, citing that " t'slike Kyuss and Tool playing with some Scottish freaks screaming over the top of it". It received its first radio play in early July 2009, on Zane Lowe's Hottest Record in the World slot on Radio 1. The single debuted at number 10 on the UK Singles Chart on 30 August 2009, as well as number one on the Scottish Singles Chart, making the song the band's fourth and most recent number-one single on that chart. ''Only Revolutions'' is the fifth studio album by Scottish alternative rock band Biffy Clyro, released 9 November 2009 on 14th Floor Records. As with its predecessor, ''Puzzle'', the album was produced by Garth Richardson. Upon release, ''Only Revolutions'' was a critical and commercial success. The album entered at 8 on the UK Album Chart and was then certified gold by the BPI shortly afterwards. It is the band's first album since leaving Beggars Banquet (though the sleeve artwork still features the Beggars Banquet logo). Ben Johnston (Scottish Musician)
Ben Hamilton Johnston (born 25 April 1980) is a drummer, vocalist, songwriter and member of Scottish group Biffy Clyro. Early life Johnston was born and raised in Kilmarnock with his twin brother James Johnston (who would go on to be the bassist for Biffy Clyro), and his younger brother, Adam (who used to be Biffy Clyro's drum tech). Career Having previously played drums with schoolfriend Simon Neil and brother James Johnston in a band called Skrewfish in 1995, Simon moved to Glasgow whilst Ben and James stayed in Ayrshire. They were soon discovered by manager Dee Bahl and then signed to Beggars Banquet in 2001. Johnston plays drums when the conceptual rock duo Marmaduke Duke plays live. Simon Alexander Neil (born 31 August 1979) is a Scottish musician, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for rock band Biffy Clyro. In 2003, Neil formed the side project Marmaduke Duke with Sucioperro, JP Reid, releasing two studio album's ''The Magnificent Duke'' (2005) and ''Duke Pandemonium'' (2009).
