Bibliometro (stylized as ''BiblioMetro'') is a Chilean program of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage (Chile), Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage created in 1995 through a cultural alliance between the Directorate of Libraries, Archives, and Museums (DIBAM) and the Santiago Metro. History Bibliometro was created by DIBAM with the aim of increasing reading habits to general public. On June 26, 1996, Bibliometro began operating, with its first three branches located at the Puente Cal y Canto metro station, Cal y Canto (Santiago Metro Line 2, Line 2), Los Héroes metro station, Los Héroes (Santiago Metro Line 1, Line 1), and Tobalaba metro station, Tobalaba (Santiago Metro Line 1, Line 1). Santiago Metro
The Santiago Metro () is a rapid transit system serving the city of Santiago, the capital of Chile. It currently consists of seven lines (numbered 1-6 and 4A), 143 stations, and of revenue route. The system is managed by the state-owned Metro S.A. and is the first rapid transit system in the country. The Santiago Metro carries around 2.5 million passengers daily. This figure represents an increase of more than a million passengers per day compared to 2007, when the ambitious Transantiago project was launched, in which the metro plays an important role in the public transport system serving the city. Its highest passenger peak was reached on 2 May 2019, reaching 2,951,962 passengers. Baquedano Metro Station
Baquedano is a transfer station between the Line 1 and Line 5 of the Santiago Metro. It is located close to the eastern terminus of the Avenida Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins. The station was initially a single-line station on the Line 1, later was enlarged since the Line 5's opening date. there are plans for the future line 7 to intersect with this station. Pajaritos Metro Station
Pajaritos is a metro station on the Line 1 of the Santiago Metro, in Santiago, Chile. Ruta 68 and General Bonilla Avenue run parallel to the station. The station was opened on 15 September 1975 as part of the inaugural section of the line between San Pablo and La Moneda. It has a moderate flow of passengers, being placed in a residential-industrial area. San Pablo Metro Station
San Pablo is a rapid transit complex in the Santiago Metro, located in Lo Prado. The station serves Line 1 and Line 5, being the western terminus of the former. Opening on 15 September 1975 for the Line 1, as part of the inaugural section of the line between San Pablo and La Moneda, San Pablo is one of the oldest stations in the system. The Line 1 platforms are the only ones in the network that are located partly at surface level and partly underground. The Line 5 station was opened on 12 January 2010 as part of the extension of the line from Quinta Normal to Pudahuel. On October 19, 2019, in the framework of the protests in Chile, the station corresponding to line 1 suffered a fire that severely charred it, including an NS-2007 that was parked on the platforms.
