Bhoodana
''Bhoodana'' () is a 1962 Indian Kannada-language film jointly directed and produced by G. V. Iyer and P.S. Gopalkrishna. The film stars Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar, Udaykumar, and K. S. Ashwath, with a musical score by G. K. Venkatesh. The film features Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar and Udaykumar in full-fledged roles together for the only time in their careers. While previously they were seen in '' Gaali Gopura'', Udaykumar's role was limited to a special appearance in that film which also did not feature any sequence of all three together. Additionally, ''Bhoodana'' is the only film in which Rajkumar portrayed the father of both Kalyan Kumar and Udaykumar,and the only film in which Leelavathi played Rajkumar's daughter. The theme of ''Bhoodana'' is inspired by Vinoba Bhave's Bhoodan movement and also draws from the novel ''Chomana Dudi'' by K. Shivaram Karanth. Kalyan Kumar
Kalyan Kumar (7 June 1928 – 1 August 1999) was an Indian actor, as well as an occasional film director and producer, who worked primarily in Kannada cinema, Kannada and Tamil cinema. Making his acting debut in the mythological drama ''Natashekara'' (1954), Kalyan Kumar went on to star in over 200 films in a span of over five decades. He was one of the most sought-after actors in the 1950s through 1970s for lead roles. Kalyan Kumar has the credit of being the first ever Kannada actor to star in a colour film in ''Amarashilpi Jakanachari'' (1963). Alongside Kumar, the 1960s and 1970s in Kannada cinema was dominated by two other actors, Dr. Rajkumar, Rajkumar and Udaya Kumar (actor), Udayakumar. Pazhani (1965 Film)
''Pazhani'' is a 1965 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by A. Bhimsingh. The film stars Sivaji Ganesan, S. S. Rajendran, R. Muthuraman and Devika. It was released on 14 January 1965. The film was a critical success and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil under the Certificate of Merit category. It is a remake of the 1962 Kannada film '' Bhoodana''. Balakrishna (Kannada Actor)
Tirumakudalu Narasipura Balakrishna (2 November 1913 – 19 July 1995) was an Indian actor in Kannada cinema. He was said to have a hearing problem and some say that he was totally deaf. However, he would catch the lip movements of the artists and would narrate the dialogues spontaneously. Gaali Gopura
''Gaali Gopura'' () is a 1962 Kannada-language film directed and produced by B. R. Panthulu. The film stars Rajkumar, Kalyan Kumar, Leelavathi and R. Nagendra Rao, with Udaya Kumar making a brief guest appearance. Acclaimed director Puttanna Kanagal served as an assistant to Panthulu during this film's production. The original score and soundtrack were composed by T. G. Lingappa, with lyrics primarily written by G. V. Iyer. The films soundtrack features a rendition of Purandara Dasa composition ''Yaarige Yaaruntu'', sung by Ghantasala, which became widely popular. B. R. Panthulu simultaneously made a Telugu version titled '' Gaali Medalu'', starring N. T. Rama Rao. Both the versions were commercially successful. Leelavathi (actress)
Leena Sequeira (1937 – 8 December 2023), known mononymously as Leelavathi, was an Indian actress, producer who worked predominantly in Kannada and Tamil films, in addition to few Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi, and Tulu films. After having her stint at the theatre, Leelavathi made her film debut in a small role as child artist in '' Nagakannika'' (1949). She went on to act in more than 600 films (more than 400 in Kannada alone) throughout her career spanning over five decades. Udaykumar
Bommasandra Srinivasaiah Suryanarayana Murthy (16 March 1933 – 26 December 1985), known professionally as Uday Kumar, was an Indian actor, writer, and film producer who worked primarily in Kannada cinema. Along with Rajkumar and Kalyan Kumar, he was part of the trio known as the ''Kumarathrayaru'' ("the three Kumars") of Kannada cinema. In addition to acting, he wrote several stage dramas and books.
