Bhavageethe
''Bhaavageete'' or ''Bhavageeth'' (literally 'emotion poetry') is a form of poetry and pop music in India. Most of the poetry sung in this genre pertain to subjects like love, nature and philosophy, and the genre itself is not much different from Ghazals, though ghazals are bound to a peculiar metre. This genre is quite popular in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. This genre may be called by different names in other languages. In Telugu they are known as ''Bhava Geethaalu''. Cherukuri Ramarao is one of the popular writers of Bhava Geethaalu in Telugu. Kannada Bhavageete Kannada Bhavageete () draws from modern Kannada poetry. Mysore Ananthaswamy
Mysore Ananthaswamy was one of the pioneers of Kannada Bhavageethe in Karnataka. He was a very popular composer and singer of Kannada Sugama Sangeetha. He composed music for several poems and bhavageethe written by well-known Kannada poets like Kuvempu, K. S. Nissar Ahmed, N S Lakshminarayana Bhatta and others. Some of his songs includes 'Jogada Siri Belakinali', Jaya Bharata Jananiya Tanujate, O Nanna Chetana, Tanuvu Ninnade Manavu Ninnade, Ede Tumbi Haadidenu etc.... At a young age, Ananthaswamy played Mandolin that he purchased for 25 rupees. Later, he switched to Harmonium due to difficulty in fine tuning the Mandolin. Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar (Marathi pronunciation: �ɾud̪əjnaːt̪ʰ məŋɡeːʃkəɾ born 26 October 1937) is an Indian music director and occasional singer. ''Sangeet Natak'' ( Marathi for 'musical drama') is a form of drama which combines prose and poetry in the form of songs to convey the story, similar to musicals. They have played a vital role in the development of Marathi theater and cinema, as well as the Indian film industry. ''Ghazal'' is a form of amatory poem or ode, originating in Arabic poetry that often deals with topics of spiritual and romantic love. It may be understood as a poetic expression of both the pain of loss, or separation from the beloved, and the beauty of love in spite of that pain. The ghazal form is ancient, tracing its origins to 7th-century Arabic poetry. Suresh Bhat
Suresh Bhat (15 April 1932 – 14 March 2003) was a Marathi poet from the state of Maharashtra, India. Personal life Bhat was born in a Karhade Brahmin family in Amravati, Maharashtra to Shridhar Bhat, a physician. His mother was fond of poetry and made young Bhat often read famous Marathi poems. He later acknowledged this practice to be a key influence in the development of his poetic abilities. He earned the B.A. degree in 1955. Poems comforted him as he battled bitterness and depression throughout his life finally accepting Atheism. After completing his education he took teaching jobs in rural areas of Amravati and continued writing poems. In 1964, he married Pushpa Mehendale, who hailed from Pune, but worked as teacher in Madhan, Amravati. He converted to Buddhism in presence of Bhante Surai Sasai and Bhau Lokhande. Suman Kalyanpur (born as Suman Hemmadi; 28 January 1937) is an Indian playback singer who is most notable for her work in Hindi cinema. Sudhir Phadke (; born Ram Phadke; 25 July 1919 – 29 July 2002) was an Indian singer-composer. He is regarded as an icon of the Marathi film industry and Marathi Sugam Sangeet with a legacy spanning five decades.
