Bharat Sundar
Bharat Sundar (born 30 August 1988 in Chennai) is a Carnatic music singer from India. He is a regular performer in the Madras Margazhi Music Season and has extensively performed in international music festivals in USA, Australia, UK, UAE, Singapore, and Kuwait. He is also a graded artiste (A Grade) of All India Radio. Education Sundar started learning Carnatic Music at the age of 6 from Smt. Gayathri Mahesh. Later, he came under the tutelage of Vidushi Mrs. Leelavathi Gopalakrishnan and her son Sri. G Srikanth for over 10 years. He took special training in Pallavi singing from Sri. J Venkatraman and Sri. Srimushnam V. Raja Rao. After receiving a B. Com and CA Intermediate Course, he studied for a M. Music (Master in Indian Classical Music) and was a Gold Medalist from the University of Madras. Indian Classical Music
Indian classical music is the classical music of the Indian subcontinent. It has two major traditions: the North Indian classical music known as ''Hindustani'' and the South Indian expression known as '' Carnatic''. These traditions were not distinct until about the 15th century. During the period of Mughal rule of the Indian subcontinent, the traditions separated and evolved into distinct forms. Hindustani music emphasizes improvisation and exploration of all aspects of a raga, while Carnatic performances tend to be short composition-based. Srimushnam V
Srimushnam is a town panchayat, and the headquarters of Srimushnam taluk, in Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, India. The town is sacred to Hindus and Buddhists. Madras Music Academy is one of the earliest established music academies in South India. Before the concept of infrastructure was introduced to India in the early 1920s, it was a gathering for elite musicians simply called (and is still more commonly referred to as) Music Academy () It plays an important role in encouraging and promoting primarily the Carnatic Music Indian art form. Sangeetha Kalanidhi
Sangeetha Kalanidhi or Sangeeta Kalanidhi (Tamil: சங்கீத கலாநிதி, Sanskrit : संगीत-कला-निधि) (''sangeetha'' = music, ''kala'' = art, ''nidhi'' = treasure or ocean) is the title awarded yearly to a Carnatic musician by the Madras Music Academy. From 1929 to 1941, the award did not exist. The idea of the award was conceived in 1942 by the then Academy President KV Krishnaswami Iyer; and on 1 January 1943, all musicians who had presided over the annual conferences between 1929 and 1942 were awarded the title. This included 2 or 3 past presidents - Palamarneri Swaminatha Iyer (1931), probably Umayalpuram Swaminatha Iyer (1936) and Mangudi Chidambara Bhagavatar (1937) - who were no more, but no posthumous award has been presented since then. CA Intermediate Course
CA Intermediate is the second level exam, of a course in India, Chartered Accountancy. It has eight subjects and over 7000 pages of study material that a student is expected to cover in the nine months study period allotted to them. The group system is what makes this exam even more difficult, as a group consists of four subjects, and a candidate has to pass all four papers in order to clear the group. Failure to pass in one subject immediately results in the failure of the entire group, which would mean that the student fails in the subjects in which he has passed. It is to be noted that the average passing percentage up to the year 2020 has been 16.76% only, which means only 4 out of every 25 students appearing for the exam manage to pass it. Ragam Thanam Pallavi
Ragam Tanam Pallavi (RTP) is a form of singing in Carnatic music which allows the musicians to improvise to a great extent. It is one of the most complete aspects of Indian classical music, demonstrating the entire gamut of talents and the depth of knowledge of the musician. It incorporates '' raga alapana'', '' tanam'', ''niraval'', and '' kalpanaswara''. In more elaborate ragam tanam pallavis, a ''tani avartanam'' Kassebaum (2000), 158 may follow. Ragam "Ragam" in the context of " Ragam Tanam Pallavi" refers to ''raga alapana'' - the first component. In this form of pure melodic improvisation, the musician starts with a refrain to create the mood of raga and lays a foundation for composition to follow.
