Bhagwant Das
Raja Bhagwant Das ( – 4 December 1589) was the 23rd ruler of Amber. He also served as the Mughal Subahdar of Lahore and the Subahdar of Kabul for a few months in 1586. His step-sister, Mariam-uz-Zamani, was the chief consort of Mughal emperor Akbar. His son, Man Singh I, one of the Navaratnas of Akbar, became the highest-ranking official of his court. His step-daughter, Man Bai, was the first and chief wife of Prince Salim (later Jahangir). Life Raja Bhagwant Das was the eldest son of Bharmal born in 1527 to his wife Phulvati of Mandore. At the event of his sister's marriage to Akbar in 1562, he was taken into the royal service by Akbar. He led several military expeditions of the Mughal Empire and was a respected noble in the Mughal court. Bhagwant Singh Mann (born 17 October 1973), better known by his stage name "Jugnu", is an Indian politician, social worker, former comedian, singer and actor who is currently serving as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab since 2022. He represents the Dhuri Assembly constituency in the Punjab Legislative Assembly since 2022 and is also serving as the state convener of Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab since 2019. Previously, he was a member of the lower house of Parliament from Sangrur from 2014 to 2022. Bhagwant Singh (also spelled ''Bhagwat Singh'') (1823 – 7 February 1873) was the Maharaj-Rana of Dholpur from 1836 until his death in 1873. Biography The son of Kirat Singh, Singh succeeded his brother, Pohap Singh, as the Maharaj-Rana of Dholpur in 1836. During the Indian Rebellion of 1857, he demonstrated loyal attachment to the East India Company. He rendered assistance to the fugitives from Gwalior in 1857. For his valuable service, he received the insignia of KCSI and was later made GCSI in 1869. In 1860, Scindia consented to the construction of a bridge over the Chambal, facilitated by the British Government, as part of the trunk road development on the river's right bank.
