The Federal Inventory of Heritage Sites (ISOS) is part of a 1981 Ordinance of the Swiss Federal Council implementing the Federal Law on the Protection of Nature and Cultural Heritage.

Fieschertal
Fieschertal is a village and Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Goms (district), Goms in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Valais in Switzerland. Besides the village of Fieschertal, the municipality includes the nearby hamlet (place), hamlets of Wichul, Zer Flie and Wirbul.

Fieschertal is first mentioned in 1351 as ''vallis de Vies''.
Geography
The village of Fieschertal is located in the valley of the Wysswasser, a tributary of the Rhone that drains the Fiescher glacier. In addition to the village, the municipality includes a number of nearby hamlet (place), hamlets, including Wichul, Zer Flie and Wirbul. However, most of the municipality's area comprises sparsely inhabited high mountain landscape and is heavily glaciated, including most of the Aletsch glacier and its tributary glaciers, together with the whole of the Fiescher glacier. Filet, Switzerland
Filet is a former municipality in the district of Raron in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. In 2009 Filet merged with Mörel into the municipality of Mörel-Filet. [Amtliches Gemeindeverzeichnis der Schweiz] published by the Swiss Federal Statistical Office accessed 19 July 2011

Grengiols
Grengiols is a municipality in the district of Raron in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
History
Grengiols is first mentioned in 1052 as ''Graneirolis''. In 1228 it was mentioned as ''Griniruel'' and in 1297 as ''Graniols''. The name probably comes from the Latin word ''graneirolas'' meaning a small granary.
Geography
Grengiols has an area, , of . Of this area, 21.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 25.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.8% is settled (buildings or roads) and 52.4% is unproductive land.
The municipality is located in the Östlich Raron district, on the southern slopes of the Rhone valley near the entrance to the Goms valley. It consists of the village of Grengiols with scattered settlements including; Hockmatte, Ze Hyschere, Bächerhyschere and others, on the road leading into the Goms valley and then over the Albrun Pass.

Lax is a municipality in the district of Goms in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.
History
Lax is first mentioned in 1295 as ''Lacx''. Lax is next documented as a community named ''Zend Goms Lax'' in 1308. The first division of irrigation was in 1347; the current system feeds seven farms around the small town. The first local regulations date from 1436.

Lax has an area, , of . Of this area, 37.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 38.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 6.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and 17.6% is unproductive land.
The municipality is located above the Deisch valley on a small plateau on the right bank of the Rhone.

Fiesch
Fiesch is a municipality in the district of Goms in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. Nearby Fiescheralp is administered by Fiesch and is accessible by the Eggishorn lift.
It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site for its view of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area.
History
Fiesch is first mentioned in 1203 as "Vios". In 1438 it is recorded as "Viesch", and has been known as Fiesch since 1905.
The Fiesch derailment occurred in 2010.

The municipality is located in a small valley and on the slopes above both sides of the Weisswasser.
