Berisha II Government
In Albania the Berisha II Government was in office from 2009 to 2013. They were sworn in on 17 September 2009, replacing the Berisha I cabinet, which had been in office since 2005. They were followed by the Rama cabinet on September 15, 2013. The coalition between the Democratic Party (PD), the Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI), the Republican Party (PR) and the Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PDIU) formed the government cabinet. In September 2010, Minister of Economics Dritan Prifti and in January 2011, Prime Minister Ilir Meta, withdrew. Shortly before the end of the reign, Sali Berisha had several LSI ministers in April 2013 through rights from her own party, since the LSI was involved in a coalition with the socialists in the election campaign. Sali Berisha
Sali Ram Berisha (; born 15 October 1944) is an Albanian conservative politician and former cardiologist who served as the second President of Albania from 1992 to 1997 and Prime Minister from 2005 to 2013. He is also the current chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania which has been disputed. On 9 September 2021 Berisha was expelled by party chairman Lulzim Basha from the Democratic Party's Parliamentary Group due to legal issues with the US Department of State. The Ministry of European Integration () was a department of the Albanian Government, responsible for integration of Albania into the European Union. On 13 September 2017, the ministry was dissolved and merged with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Aldo Tonin Bumçi (born 11 June 1974) is a member of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania for the Democratic Party of Albania. Edmond Panariti (born 1 June 1960) is an Albanian academic and politician, who is the former minister of foreign affairs and the former minister of agriculture and rural development. Arben Fahri Imami (born 21 January 1958) is an Albanian politician and former actor. He served as the minister of defense between 2009 and 2013. Lulzim Basha (; born 12 June 1974) is an Albanian politician who served as the chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania, the main opposition party, from 2013 to March 21, 2022 when he stepped down from the leadership of the party. Basha was elected as chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania in September 2013 following the Democratic Party's electoral loss which sent them in the opposition.
