Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racket (sports equipment), racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net (device), net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Johanita Scholtz (born 25 January 2000) is a South African badminton player. Scholtz won her first senior international title at the 2017 Botswana International tournament. She competed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. Paula Lynn Cao Hok (née Obañana; born March 19, 1985) is a Filipino-American badminton player who was originally from Dumaguete, Philippines. In 2015, she won the women's doubles gold medals at the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada partnered with Eva Lee. In 2016, she competed at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dánica Nishimura Higa (born 11 September 1996) is a Peruvian badminton player. Career Nishimura started playing badminton at aged 10 in AELU club. In 2008 she competed in the junior event and at the same year, she joined the national team. Godwin Richard Olofua (born 18 April 1999) is a Nigerian badminton player who participated at local and international badminton competitions representing Nigeria and has won several trophies.
