Beau Belga
Beau Michael Vincent Esparrago Belga (born November 30, 1986) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also an assistant coach for the UST Growling Tigers of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Early life Belga was born and raised in Gubat, Sorsogon and is the eldest among the three siblings. His father was a family driver while his mother was a housewife. At a young age, he helped his grandmother sell balut, penoy, and other goods. He finished his high school education in Sorsogon. As a kid, he was very thin and was often bullied; as a way of escape, he focused his attention on basketball. College career He decided to go to Manila and study at Philippine Christian University. Sorsogon
Sorsogon, officially the Province of Sorsogon ( Bikol: ''Probinsya kan Sorsogon''; Waray: ''Probinsya han Sorsogon''; ), is a province in the Philippines located in the Bicol Region. Balut ( , ; also spelled as balot) is a fertilized developing egg embryo that is boiled or steamed and eaten from the shell. It is commonly sold as street food, often eaten with salt and vinegar, most notably in the Philippines, Cambodia (, ), and Vietnam (), and also occasionally in Thailand (). 2014 in sports, 2014 FIBA Asia Challenge, FIBA Asia Cup was the 5th FIBA Asia Cup, a top-level international basketball tournament of FIBA Asia. FIBA Asia Challenge
The FIBA Asia Challenge, previously known as the FIBA Asia Stanković Cup between 2004 and 2010 and FIBA Asia Cup from 2012 to 2014, is a basketball tournament which takes place every two years between teams from Asia. History The second tournament was supposed to be held in Damascus, Syria in 2006, but got cancelled due to political situation. Basketball At The 2007 Southeast Asian Games
The 2007 SEA Games basketball tournaments was held at Keelapirom Stadium, Suranaree University of Technology at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand. The basketball events were not held on the 2005 SEA Games since the host country, the Philippines basketball federation (the Basketball Association of the Philippines) was suspended by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). The suspension was lifted in 2006 and the Philippines and Malaysia defended their men's and women's championships, respectively, last won in 2003. The tournament was conducted on a single round robin; the team with best record wins the gold.
