Joachim Witt
Joachim Witt (born 22 February 1949) is a German rock musician and actor. Biography Witt was the guitarist/singer in the 1970s krautrock band Duesenberg. He released three albums with them, ''Duesenberg'' (1977), ''Duesenberg 2'' (1978) and ''Strangers'' (1979), before embarking on a solo career as a singer and actor. Witt became a major star of the German pop scene during the 1980s with huge hits such as "Goldener Reiter". He was one of the biggest names of the "Neue Deutsche Welle" (New German Wave), of which performers like Nena and Falco were also a part. He made a big comeback at the end of the 1990s, when he scored a major hit with "Die Flut", a duet with Peter Heppner, the singer of popular German synthpop group Wolfsheim. Neue Deutsche Härte
Neue Deutsche Härte (; "new German hardness"), sometimes abbreviated as NDH, is a subgenre of rock music that developed in Germany and Austria during the early-to-mid 1990s and during the early 2000s. Alluding to the style of Neue Deutsche Welle, the term was coined by the music press after the 1995 release of the German rock and metal band Rammstein's first studio album '' Herzeleid''. Characteristics Neue Deutsche Härte describes a crossover style that is influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle, alternative metal and groove metal combining it with elements from electro-industrial and techno. The lyrics are generally in German. NDH uses the basic setup of instruments for metal: electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals, along with keyboard, synthesizers, samples and sometimes additional percussion. Peter Heppner
Peter Heppner (born 7 September 1967 in Hamburg) is the former lead singer of the German electronica/synth pop band Wolfsheim, and has collaborated with many other electronic music acts, such as Paul van Dyk, Schiller, and Goethes Erben. Career Being singer and songwriter for Wolfsheim since 1987, his first commercial success was in 1991 releasing the single "The Sparrows and the Nightingales". In 1998, he had a big charts success with NDW star Joachim Witt and their duet "Die Flut". In the years following, his notability as a singer increased. Collaborating with Schiller, he achieved international chart hits with "Dream of You" (2001) and "Leben... I Feel You" in 2004. In the same year, he released the song " Wir Sind Wir" with Paul van Dyk. Although the song was controversial the artists recorded another version together with the Filmorchester Babelsberg which was performed at the official ceremony for the Day of German Unity on 3 October 2005 in Potsdam. Laibach () is a Slovenian avant-garde music group associated with the industrial, martial, and neo-classical genres. Formed in the mining town of Trbovlje (at the time in Yugoslavia) in 1980, Laibach represents the musical wing of the Neue Slowenische Kunst (NSK) collective, a group which Laibach helped found in 1984. "Laibach" is the German historical name for the Slovenian capital Ljubljana, itself an oblique reference to the Nazi occupation of Slovenia in World War II. From the early days, the band was subject to controversies and bans due to their elaborate use of iconography with ambiguously repugnant parodies and pastiches of elements from totalitarianism, nationalism and militarism, a concept they have preserved throughout their career.
