Battle Of Demoso
The First Battle of Demoso began on May 21, 2021, between the forces of the State Administration Council junta (known as the Tatmadaw) and Karenni separatist groups allied with the anti-junta People's Defence Force (PDF) during the 2021 Myanmar civil war. The battle took place over the span of a few weeks in the city of Demoso and surrounding villages, eventually ending in a ceasefire between the two parties. Prelude Kayah State, also known as Karenni state, is located in eastern Myanmar and is subdivided into townships. The capital of Demoso Township is the city of Demoso, with much of the rest of the township being rural, small villages. The Karen people in the area have been fighting a low-level conflict for independence with the Burmese Army, also known as the Tatmadaw, since 1949. Demoso
Demoso (; also spelled Dimawhso) is the capital of Demoso District in northwestern Kayah State, Myanmar. History Demoso was the site of the Battle of Demoso during the Myanmar civil war that began in 2021. 2015 Myanmar General Election
General elections were held in Myanmar on 8 November 2015, with the National League for Democracy winning a supermajority of seats in the combined national parliament. Pekhon Township
Pekon Township (; also spelled Pekhon, Phekhon, Pekong, Pecong, Pékon) is a township of Kalaw District in the Shan State of Myanmar. The principal town is Pekon. The largest settlement in the township is Mobye, a village tract in the east of the township. Part of a popular tourist place and bird watching site, Inle Lake and Inlay Lake Wetland Sanctuary, lies in this township. Mobye
Mobye (; also spelt Mobre or Moe Bye) is a village tract within Pekon Township, Shan State, Myanmar. It is located on the southern end of the Mobye Reservoir located south of Inle Lake and contains the lowest point within Pekon Township at . The village of Mobye is located within the village tract along with 35 other villages in close proximity. Geography Mobye is located on the border with Kayah State, 10 miles northwest of its the Kayah capital Loikaw. The village tract is connected to Pekon, the township's principal town, and Loikaw through waterways, railways and a roadway. The Mobye Dam, located within the village, is built along the Pilu River (also called the Baluchaung River). Together with the Lawpita Dam, the dams power the Lawpita Power Plant system. It is a square number, the smallest semiprime and composite number, and is considered unlucky in many East Asian cultures. Loikaw
Loikaw (, ) is the largest city and the capital of Kayah State, also known as Karenni State, in Myanmar. It is located in the Karen Hills area, near the State's northern tip, just above an embayment on the Pilu River. The inhabitants are mostly Kayah people, Kayah (Karenni people, Karenni). Myanmar's largest hydropower plant (built by the Japanese as war reparation) is located about east of Loikaw at Lawpita Falls.
