Basuki Probowinoto
Basuki Probowinoto (January 19, 1917 – January 6, 1989) was the founder and chairman of the Indonesian Christian Party, and a reverend from the Javanese Christian Church. He was also a member of the Central Indonesian National Committee since 1945. Early life Basuki Probowinoto was born on January 19, 1917, in Tlogomulyo, Purwodadi, Central Java, Dutch East Indies. He was born to father Mateus Rahmat and mother Rokayah. Since he was in school, Probowinoto frequently leaped class. After he finished his basic studies, he went on to the teacher's school in Purwodadi. After finishing his studies there, he entered the theological school. Prior to his entry in the school, he was requested to teach in schools of Purwodadi, and invited to preach in local churches. During his time in the theological school, his teacher, Professor Verkuyl, considered him as a nationalist thinker. Sukarno
Sukarno). (; born Koesno Sosrodihardjo, ; 6 June 1901 – 21 June 1970) was an Indonesian statesman, orator, revolutionary, and nationalist who was the first president of Indonesia, serving from 1945 to 1967. Sukarno was the leader of the Indonesian struggle for independence from the Dutch colonialists. He was a prominent leader of Indonesia's nationalist movement during the colonial period and spent over a decade under Dutch detention until released by the invading Japanese forces in World War II. Sukarno and his fellow nationalists collaborated to garner support for the Japanese war effort from the population, in exchange for Japanese aid in spreading nationalist ideas. Salatiga
Salatiga ( jv, ꦯꦭꦠꦶꦒ) is a city in Central Java province, Indonesia. It covers an area of and had a population of 192,322 at the 2020 Census. Located between the cities of Semarang and Surakarta, and administratively an independent city enclaved within Semarang Regency, it sits at the foot of Mount Merbabu () and Mount Telomoyo, and has a relatively cool climate due to its elevated position. The First Congress of the National Christian Party ( id, Kongres I Partai Kristen Nasional) was held between 6–8 December 1945. The congress was the first congress of the party, held in one month after the formation on November 10, 1945. The congress was only attended by the party delegates from Java. The congress decided to change the name of the party from National Christian Party to Indonesian Christian Party. A permanent central executive committee of the party was formed.
