The Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Piat is one of the twenty-one minor basilicas in the Philippines. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao. Located at Poblacion, Piat, Cagayan, Piat, in the province of Cagayan, the shrine is dubbed as the "Pilgrimage Center of Northeast Luzon" and is home to the centuries-old brown Madonna (art), Madonna ''Our Lady of Piat''. Tuao, Cagayan
Tuao, officially the Municipality of Tuao (; ; ), is a municipality in the province of Cagayan, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 63,970 people. Etymology When the early Spanish missionaries were busy laying the foundation of a church late in the 16th century at a site about six kilometers from the present town of Tuao, a big bird came circling over them and then alighted on the wooden cross erected to mark the place where the cornerstone was laid. Archdiocese Of Nueva Segovia
The Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia is an archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. It covers the province of Ilocos Sur, on the island of Luzon. The see of the archdiocese is the city of Vigan. The archdiocese was erected in 1595 in the city of Nueva Segovia (modern-day Lal-lo, Cagayan). The see was moved in 1758 to Vigan because of its relative distance, at the request of Bishop Juan de la Fuente Yepes, during the pontificate of Benedict XIV. It became an archdiocese in 1951. The archdiocese features the only archbishop's residence in the Philippines built during the Spanish era. It is located just beside the Vigan Cathedral. The rear of the convent also had an access to nearby Govantes Dike, apparently a convenient exit point by sea, but it is no longer in use as the dike is no longer navigable. Saint Dominic de Guzman Parish Church, commonly known as Lal-lo Church, is a Roman Catholic church located in Lal-lo, Cagayan, Philippines. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Tuguegarao. The church was built by the Dominican priests in 1596. The facade, with neo-Renaissance style, may have been applied as part of the renovation of the church after a storm in 1845. The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) declared it a national landmark and installed a historical marker on the church's facade in 1939.
