Barn (album)
''Barn'' is the 43rd studio album by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Neil Young and his 14th with American rock band Crazy Horse. The album was released on December 10, 2021, by Reprise Records. A stand-alone film of the same name directed by Young's wife Daryl Hannah was also released for streaming and on Blu-ray. Background The album is Young's first since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the sessions marked the first time he attempted to record since 2019. Lofgren explains, "In April or May, Neil reached out and said, 'Look, we're not going to be able to play until next summer at the earliest. It's just weird to not do anything as a band for a year and a half. I have four songs I wrote. Why don't we get together, safely, in the Rockies and just be old friends with instruments on and maybe record a few songs?' Neil Young
Neil Percival Young (born November 12, 1945) is a Canadian and American singer-songwriter. After embarking on a music career in Winnipeg in the 1960s, Young moved to Los Angeles, forming the folk rock group Buffalo Springfield. ''After the Gold Rush'' is the third studio album by the Canadian-American musician Neil Young, released in September 1970 on Reprise Records. It is one of four high-profile solo albums released by the members of folk rock group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young in the wake of their chart-topping 1970 album ''Déjà Vu''. Young's album consists mainly of country folk music along with several rock tracks, including " Southern Man". The material was inspired by the unproduced Dean Stockwell- Herb Bermann screenplay ''After the Gold Rush''. ''After the Gold Rush'' entered '' Billboard'' Top Pop Albums chart on September 19, and peaked at number eight in October. ''Greendale'' is the 27th studio album by Neil Young. Young and Crazy Horse's ''Greendale'' is a 10-song musical novel set in a fictional California seaside town of the same name. Based on the saga of the Green family, ''Greendale'' combines numerous themes on corruption, observation of the passing of time, environmentalism and mass media consolidation. Recording and writing Young recorded the album between July and September 2002 at his Broken Arrow Ranch. The sessions were produced by Young and filmmaker L.A. Johnson. The sessions feature Young on guitar, organ and harmonica backed only by drummer Ralph Molina and bassist Billy Talbot of longtime collaborators Crazy Horse. Beatniks were members of a social movement in the mid-20th century, who subscribed to an anti- materialistic lifestyle.
