Banwari Lal (revolutionary)
Banwari Lal Bhargava () was a member of HRA, who participated in the Kakori train robbery, carried out in August 1925 to buy ammunition for revolutionary activities and protests against British rule in India. He lived in Shahjahanpur, in the present-day state of Uttar Pradesh, India. He became an approver in the subsequent court case concerning that robbery for monetary gains and to evade punishment. Banwari Lal (born 1 July 1960) is an Indian environmental and industrial biotechnologist and the director of the Environmental and Industrial Biotechnology Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). Known for the development of ''oilzapper'' technology, Dr. Lal is the chief executive officer of ONGC-TERI Biotech Limited, a collaborative venture between TERI and the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation since 2008. The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biosciences in 2004. Banwari Lal Joshi (27 March 1936 – 22 December 2017) was an Indian civil servant and government official who was Governor of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh from 2009 to 24 June 2014. He was previously Lieutenant-Governor of Delhi from 2004 to 2007, Governor of Meghalaya in 2007, and Governor of Uttarakhand from October 2007 to July 2009. He was the former List of governors of Punjab, India, Governor of Punjab, India and Administrator of Chandigarh from September 2021, Governor of Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2021, and former Governor of Assam from 2016 to 2017. Career Hansaria completed his schooling in Sardarshahar and studied at Birla Arts College, Pilani. He passed M.A. from the Calcutta University and M.Sc. from the London School of Economics. Banwari Lal Chouksey is an Indian machinist and inventor, known for his innovative engineering ideas. He was born in Ganga Pipaliya, in Bhopal district of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh and did not have formal education beyond high school level. He started his career with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited as a mechanical labourer where he rose in ranks to become an engineer. He is reported to have designed alternative spare parts for heavy machinery which saved money for the company and he holds patents for some of his inventions. He is the recipient of the several awards such as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Samman of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar and Shrambhushan Samman.
