Banqiao Station
Banqiao () is a railway and metro station in New Taipei, Taiwan served by Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR), TRA, Taipei Metro and New Taipei Metro. With the exception of the Circular Line, all other tracks and platforms in the station are located underground. The station is served by the fastest HSR express services of the ''1 series''. The current station building opened in 1999 for TRA, 2006 for Taipei Metro, and 2007 for HSR. The station currently handles over 77 million entries and exits per year. The elevated metro station of the Circular line (New Taipei Metro) opened on 31 January 2020. Taiwan High Speed Rail
Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) is a high-speed railway network in Taiwan, which consists of a single line that runs approximately along the western coast of the island, from the capital Taipei in the north to the southern city of Kaohsiung. Its construction was managed by a private company, Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSRC), which also operates the line. The total cost of the project was billion in 1998. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. They are also useful within larger stations, where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be accessed from opposite sides of the same platform instead of side platforms on either side of the tracks, simplifying and speeding transfers between the two tracks. New Taipei Industrial Park () is a metro station in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan, served by both the Taoyuan Metro and the Taipei Metro. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform, where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track.
