Xindian District
Xindian District () is an inner city District (Taiwan), district in the southern part of New Taipei City, Taiwan. Name Xindian's name originated during the Qing Dynasty close to 300 years ago. According to legend, a person named Lin and others came from Quanzhou, Fujian, Fujian Province. On a mountain road leading to Wulai, Taipei, Wulai, they built a small cabin and opened a store selling groceries for the exchange of goods with mountain Taiwanese aborigines, aborigines. Since the store had no formal name, travelers called it ''Sintiam'' (). An area usually not considered as part of Xindian is ''Ankeng'' (), although it is within the jurisdiction of the district, located in a valley on the west side of the Xindian Creek. Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park
The Jing-Mei White Terror Memorial Park () is a museum in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. History The building used to serve as a military school from 1957 to 1967. It later housed military courts and a detention center called the Jingmei Military Detention Center () for political dissidents during the White Terror period. Former prisoners in the detention center include Annette Lu, Chen Chu and Shih Ming-teh. In 1991, the center was closed. In 2007, the center was turned into a human rights memorial and museum featuring Taiwan's democracy movement at the suggestion of Lu, who was then serving as Vice President. In early April 2009, the Council for Cultural Affairs changed the name of the site to Jing-Mei Human Rights Memorial and Cultural Park. New Taipei Industrial Park () is a metro station in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan, served by both the Taoyuan Metro and the Taipei Metro. The station opened for commercial service on 2 March 2017 with the commencement of operations of the Taoyuan Airport MRT and is served by both Commuter and Express trains on that line. An island platform (also center platform (American English) or centre platform (British English)) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are sometimes used between the opposite-direction tracks on twin-track route stations as they are cheaper and occupy less area than other arrangements. The Zhonghe–Xinlu or Orange line (code O) is a metro line in Taipei operated by the Taipei Metro, named after the districts it connects: Zhonghe, Xinzhuang and Luzhou.
