Banke District ( ne, बाँके जिल्ला , a part of Lumbini Province, is one of the 77 districts of Nepal. The district, located in midwestern Nepal with Nepalganj as its district headquarters, covers an area of and had a population of 385,840 in 2001 and 491,313 in 2011. There are three main cities in the Banke District: Nepalganj, Kohalpur and Khajura Bajaar. Geography and Climate Banke is bordered on the west by ''Bardiya district''. ''Rapti zone's'' ''Salyan'' and '' Dang Deukhuri Districts'' border to the north and east. To the south lies ''Uttar Pradesh'', India, a country in Asia; specifically ''Shravasti'' and '' Bahraich districts'' of ''Awadh''. Bankə (also, Bank, Banka, Bankov, Imeni Kirova and Rybokombinat Imeni Kirova) is a village and the most populous municipality, except for the capital Neftçala, in the Neftchala Rayon of Azerbaijan. Paul Banke
Paul Andre Banke (born March 1, 1964, in Blythe, California) is a former World Boxing Council Super Bantamweight champion boxer, and is the first American boxer to go public with an AIDS diagnosis. Having lived 29 years after being diagnosed with AIDS, Banke, who accepted medical treatment, is the longest living professional boxer with the disease. Career Banke turned pro in 1985. After losing a 12-round split decision to Daniel Zaragoza in June 1989, Banke captured the WBC Super Bantamweight Title in April 1990 with an upset ninth-round TKO victory over Daniel Zaragoza. He defended his title once in August 1990 with a twelfth round stoppage of undefeated Ki Hoon Lee in South Korea, knocking Lee down three times. He was knocked down three times in the fourth round, and lost his WBC title to Pedro Ruben Decima by fourth round stoppage in November 1990. Banke Bihari Temple
Bankey Bihari Temple is a Hindu temple situated in the town of Vrindavan, Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Bankey Bihari who is believed to be the combined form of Radha and Krishna. Bankey Bihari was originally worshipped at Nidhivan, Vrindavan. Later, when Bankey Bihari temple was constructed around 1864, idol of Bankey Bihari was moved to new temple. The image of Radha Krishna's united form stands in the Tribhanga posture. Swami Haridas originally worshipped this devotional image under the name of Kunj-Bihari ("one who enjoys in the groves (Kunj) of Vrindavan"). 'Bānke' means 'bent', and 'Bihāri' or 'Vihāri' means 'enjoyer'. This is how Kṛiṣhṇa, who is bent in three places, got the name "Bānke Bihāri".
