The 12907 / 12908 Maharashtra Sampark Kranti Express is a Sampark Kranti Superfast Express train that operates between in Mumbai and in Delhi, India. Background This train was introduced as one of the Sampark Kranti trains announced by the then-Railway Minister Nitish Kumar in the 2004/2005 rail budget. It originally departed from and, after a stop at , ran non-stop to , except for operational halts. Due to low ridership, the operational stops were changed to commercial stops. It now also halts at and for crew changes. It formerly used ICF coach cars, but has used LHB rakes cars since 15 January 2017. Coach composition The train uses standard LHB rakes cars and has a maximum speed of 130 km/h. The Indian locomotive class WAP-7 is a class of 25 kV AC electric locomotives that was developed in 1999 by Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for Indian Railways. The model name stands for broad gauge (W), AC Current (A), Passenger traffic (P) locomotive, 7th generation (7). They entered service in 2000. A total of 1909 WAP-7 have been built, with more units being built at CLW, Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) and Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW). The WAP-7 has been serving passengers for Indian Railways since their introduction in 1999. It is a passenger variant of the WAG-9 freight locomotive with a modified gear ratio to pull lighter loads at higher speeds. Electric Loco Shed, Vadodara is an electric engine shed located in Vadodara, in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is located to south of Vadodara railway station, it falls under the Vadodara railway division of Western Railway. It is the largest of locomotive sheds in the Western Railway zone. The Integral Coach Factory (ICF) coach is a conventional Passenger railroad car, passenger coach used on the majority of Indian Railways (IR) lines. Between 1955 and 2018, more than 54,000 were produced and some were exported to other countries. LHB Coach
Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coach is a passenger coach of Indian Railways that is developed by Linke-Hofmann-Busch of Germany and produced by rail coach manufacturing units at Kapurthala, Chennai and Raebareli. They have been used since 2000 on the broad gauge network of Indian railways. Initially, 24 air-conditioned coaches were imported from Germany for use in the Shatabdi express following which, the Rail Coach Factory started manufacturing after technology transfer. IR declared that all ICF coaches will be replaced by LHB coaches to provide more safety and comfort.
