Band-Maid is a Japanese Rock music, rock band formed in 2013, comprising singer Saiki Atsumi, guitarist/singer Miku Kobato, lead guitarist Kanami Tōno, bassist Misa, and drummer Akane Hirose. The band combines hard rock music with costumes modeled on Japanese maid cafés. They are currently signed to Pony Canyon. Their most recent studio album, ''Epic Narratives'', was released in September 2024. History 2013–2014: Early years and ''Maid in Japan'' From 2012 to early 2013, Miku Kobato was singing in an Japanese idol, idol group, Lil Cumin, with Yuki Yano and Risa Aoyagi. The group released three singles, Imishin Spicin, Hatsukoi Ribbon, and Super Trooper. ''Just Bring It'' is the fourth studio album and first full-length album by Japanese band Band-Maid, released on January 11, 2017 in Japan via Crown Stones and February 10, 2017 internationally by JPU Records. The record was preceded by the quintet's first world tour and the single " YOLO", released in November 2016. The album reached number 16 on the Japanese Oricon Albums Chart, selling 4,015 copies in its first week. The last track "Secret My Lips" was rearranged in the Japanese traditional style with Kyoto dialect lyrics, and the music video was released as "Secret Maiko Lips" for 2018 April Fools' Day. YOLO (Band-Maid Song)
"YOLO" is the second single by Japanese rock band Band-Maid. Released in Japan on November 16, 2016, by Crown Stones, it is the band's first single on a major record label. The title track is featured as the theme song of the video game ''Valiant Knights''. Composition In 2019, as Band-Maiko, they released an alternate version of "YOLO" (retitled "YOLOSIOSU"), with traditional Japanese instruments and lyrics rewritten in the Kyoto dialect. Background and release The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, and a limited edition, which contains the CD and a music sheet for the song "YOLO", enclosed in a sleeve. Both editions of the single feature the b-sides "Unfair Game" and "Matchless Gum", along with an instrumental version of the title track. ''Epic Narratives'' is the eighth studio album by Japanese rock band Band-Maid. It was released on September 25, 2024 and was their first full-length studio album since the release of ''Unseen World'' in January 2021, three years and eight months prior. It reached the top 10 on iTunes worldwide albums chart. Background and recording The production period for the album lasted three and a half years.
