Bambara (band)
Bambara is an American post-punk band formed in 2007 in Athens, Georgia, currently based in Brooklyn, New York. The trio consists of twin brothers Reid Bateh (lead vocals, guitar) and Blaze Bateh (drums), and William Brookshire (bass). The band is named after the character of the same name from the animated television series '' Æon Flux''. Drummer Blaze Bateh stated that "honestly there wasn’t anything in particular about him as a character that drove us to use his name. We were just huge fans of the show. I’ve watched the show start to finish countless times and I still get blown away by aspects of it. But yeah, we just thought his name sounded really cool". Reid Bateh's baritone vocals have been compared to Nick Cave and Rowland S. Howard. Joseph Talbot (born 23 August 1984) is a Welsh singer. He has been the vocalist for British rock band Idles since their inception in 2009. Early life Talbot was born in Newport on 23 August 1984. He moved to England as a child, where he grew up in Exeter. The Birthday Party (band)
The Birthday Party (originally known as the Boys Next Door) were an Australian post-punk band, active from 1977 to 1983. The group's "bleak and noisy soundscapes," which drew irreverently on blues, free jazz, and rockabilly, provided the setting for vocalist Nick Cave's disturbing tales of violence and perversion. Their 1981 single " Release the Bats" was particularly influential on the emerging gothic scene. Despite limited commercial success, the Birthday Party's influence has been far-reaching, and they have been called "one of the darkest and most challenging post-punk groups to emerge in the early '80s." In 1980, the Birthday Party moved from Melbourne to London, where they were championed by broadcaster John Peel. Swans are an American experimental rock band formed in 1981 by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gira. One of the few acts to emerge from the New York City-based no wave scene and stay intact into the next decade, Swans have become recognized for an ever-changing sound, exploring genres such as noise rock, post-punk, industrial music, industrial and post-rock. Initially, their music was known for its sonic brutality and Misanthropy, misanthropic lyrics. Following the addition of singer, songwriter and keyboardist Jarboe in 1986, Swans began to incorporate melody and intricacy into their music. ''Birthmarks'' is the fifth studio album by American post-punk band Bambara. It was released on March 14, 2025, by Bella Union and Wharf Cat Records. Produced by Graham Sutton, ''Birthmarks'' is the band's first release since its 2022 EP ''Love On My Mind'', and its first full-length album ''Stray'' in 2020. Reception AllMusic gave the album a rating of 3.5 out of five and stated "there is more of a conceptual storyline to this album, involving a character named Elena and the man who murdered her boyfriend." Nothing is an American shoegaze band formed in 2010 by vocalist-guitarist Domenic "Nicky" Palermo. The band has had a revolving lineup throughout its career, with Palermo being the sole constant member following the departure of longtime guitarist-vocalist Brandon Setta in 2019. The two guitarists shared songwriting duties during Setta's tenure in Nothing. The band self-released several EPs before signing to Relapse Records. The Foo Fighters are an American Rock music, rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. Initially founded as a one-man project by former Nirvana (band), Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, the band comprises vocalist/guitarist Grohl, bassist Nate Mendel, guitarist Pat Smear, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and keyboardist Rami Jaffee.
