Baldur Ingi Jónasson
Baldur Ingi Jónasson (born 15 July 1972) is an Icelandic former basketball coach and player. He formerly coached Úrvalsdeild clubs Stjarnan and KFÍ. As a player, he spent 9 seasons in the Icelandic top-tier Úrvalsdeild karla with KFÍ and Þór Akureyri, scoring 1,616 points in 192 games. Over his career, he has played over 30 season in the Icelandic basketball league system. Playing career After starting his career with Bolungarvík and splitting two seasons with ÍKÍ and Laugdælir, Baldur transferred to KFÍ in 1994. In 1996, he helped KFÍ achieve promotion to the Úrvalsdeild karla for the first time in the club's history, scoring 20 points in the third and deciding game of the 1. deild karla finals against Þór Þorlákshöfn. Þór Akureyri (basketball Club)
Íþróttafélagið Þór (, ), commonly known as Þór Akureyri (), or simply Þór or Thór, is a multi-sport club in Akureyri, in the north of Iceland. It features departments in basketball, football, handball and taekwondo. Its main rival is another sport club from Akureyri named KA. Fjölnir ( ) is a legendary king in Norse mythology said to have been the son of Freyr (Frey) and his consort Gerðr (Gertha). The name appears in a variety of forms, including Fiolnir, Fjölner, Fjolner, and Fjolne. He was claimed as the progenitor of the Swedish Yngling dynasty, reigning from Gamla Uppsala. The Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup (Icelandic: Bikarkeppni KKÍ), also known as VÍS bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, is an annual professional basketball competition between clubs in Iceland. It is Iceland's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's former second-tier cup competition, the Company Cup. History and format The first edition of the Icelandic Cup championship took place in 1965, and was won by Ármann. In 1968 and 1969, the cup competition was not held, but it has been held regularly every year from 1970 onward. Teams in Úrvalsdeild karla and Division I have an automatic bye to the Final 32 while lower league teams might have to play preliminary rounds for a place, depending on the number of teams. Guðjón Skúlason (born 1 January 1967) is an Icelandic retired basketball player and coach and a former member of Icelandic national team. He played nineteen seasons in the Úrvalsdeild karla, winning the Icelandic championship six times with Keflavík. He was named the Icelandic Basketball Player of the Year in 1997. Playing career College career In 1990, Guðjón joined the Auburn University at Montgomery and played for the Auburn Montgomery Warhawks. Kristinn Geir Friðriksson (born 23 December 1971) is an Icelandic former basketball player and coach. He is currently a basketball analyst for '' Domino's Körfuboltakvöld'' (English: Domino's Basketball Night) on Stöð 2 Sport. Eiríkur Sverrir Önundarson (born 19 September 1974) is an Icelandic former basketball player and a former member of the Icelandic men's national basketball team. He spent 19 of his 21 seasons with Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur where he won the Icelandic Cup in 2001 and 2007. Playing career Eiríkur came up through the junior programs of Íþróttafélag Reykjavíkur.
