Atiku Abubakar
Atiku Abubakar (; born 25 November 1946) is a Nigerian politician and businessman who served as the vice president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 during the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo. He ran for the office of governor of Adamawa State in 1990 and 1996 unsuccessfully, but won in 1998. Before he was sworn in, he was selected as running mate to former military leader, Olusegun Obasanjo, during the 1999 presidential election and was re-elected in 2003. Atiku Abubakar ran unsuccessfully for President of Nigeria six times, in 1993, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023. He ran in the Social Democratic Party presidential primaries in 1993, but lost to Moshood Abiola and Baba Gana Kingibe. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu (born 26 December 1961) is a Nigerian people, Nigerian politician who is the current Nigerian minister of budget and economic planning. He served as governor of Kebbi State from 2015 to 2023. He also served as the senator representing the Kebbi Central senatorial district from 2009 to 2015. Abdur Rahman Atiku
Abdur Rahman Atiku (Arabic: عبد الرحمن أتيكو), sometimes known as Abdu or Abd al-Rahman bin Atiku, was the Sultan of Sokoto from 1891 to 1902. In earlier vacancies, he had been a contender from the house of Atiku, but the house had been passed over three times since the death of Ahmadu Rufai in 1873. Abubakar Na Rabah, Mu'azu, and Umaru bin Ali subsequent Sultans after Rufai were from the house of Muhammed Bello. His nickname 'Danyen kasko', meaning 'unbaked pot' in Hausa, came from a proverb, "Danyen kasko ba shi kai ruwa ban daki" (an unbaked pot does not carry water to the back of the house). Abu Bakr Atiku
Abu Bakr Atiku (; 1782–1842) was the third Sultan of the Sokoto Caliphate, reigning from October 1837 until November 1842. Early years Abu Bakr Atiku dan Shehu was born to the second wife of Usman dan Fodio in 1782. He was involved, as were all his siblings, in studies directed by his father in Degel until the family and some followers were exiled in 1804. Like his brother Muhammed Bello and his sister Nana Asma’u, he dedicated significant part of his early years to study and wrote poetry, history, and on Islamic studies. Many of his works of history and poetry survive and are considered key texts of the era. In 1815, when Usman dan Fodio died, he briefly contested his brother Muhammed Bello for control of the Sokoto Caliphate. The bloodless succession struggle ended with Bello the Sultan of the Caliphate and Atiku imprisoned for one year. Ahmadu Atiku
Ahmadu Atiku () (c. 1807–1866) also known as Ahmadu Zarruku was Sultan of Sokoto from 1859 to 1866. Prior to becoming Sultan, he was head of the Abu Bakr Atiku branch of Uthman Dan Fodio's family and held the title of Sarkin Zamfara with responsibilities for Sokoto town and south-east Sokoto. Atiku established the military settlement (ribat) at Chimmola which was across the valley from the town of Wurno and which he used as the seat of government. Life Atiku was born c. 1807, he was chosen as Sultan in 1859 in succession to Ali Bello. Bello was sufficiently successful in battle and was a respected ruler; at the time of Atiku's accession, Sokoto was fully established. Amina Titi Atiku-Abubakar
Amina Titilayo Atiku-Abubakar (born Titilayo Albert; 6 June 1951) is a Nigerian advocate of women and child rights and the wife of former vice president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar. She is the founder of Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation (WOTCLEF) and the initiator of the private bill that led to the establishment of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
