Athletes Unlimited (also known by its abbreviation AU) is a women's professional sports organization based in the United States that organizes and administers competitions in the sports of basketball, softball, volleyball, and formerly lacrosse. It was founded in 2020 by Jon Patricof and Jonathan Soros. Athletes Unlimited leagues employ formats in which individual players are crowned champions, with the exception of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League, which has traditional teams. Jon Patricof
Jon Patricof (born 1973) is an American businessman and former president of New York City FC. Before joining New York City FC, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Tribeca Enterprises which oversees the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Film, and Tribeca Cinemas. Patricof co-founded Athletes Unlimited and currently serves as CEO. Early life and education Patricof is the son of Susan (née Hatkoff) and Alan Patricof. He has two brothers, Mark and Jamie Patricof. Career Patricof joined Tribeca Enterprises in 2005 as Chief Operating Officer. He oversaw the development of the Tribeca Film Festival, which was established in 2002, into one of the most prestigious festivals in the world. Madison Siegrist (born May 22, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for the Villanova Wildcats of the Big East Conference and is the Big East's all-time leading scorer in women's basketball. She was selected 3rd overall in the 2023 WNBA draft by the Wings. Early life Siegrist played basketball for Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, New York. Enterprise, Nevada
Enterprise is an unincorporated town in the Las Vegas Valley in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 221,831 at the 2020 U.S. census, up from 14,676 at the 2000 census. It was founded on December 17, 1996. As in other unincorporated towns in the Las Vegas Valley, its ZIP Codes are assigned the place name "Las Vegas" for mailing addresses. 2022 Athletes Unlimited Basketball Season
The 2022 Season was the Athletes Unlimited Basketball's first in existence. The season was played in Las Vegas and ran from January 26 to February 26. The format in which teams are redrafted each week allows athletes to accumulate points for both individual and team performances, culminating with one individual winner. Tianna Hawkins became the inaugural Overall Season Winner - finishing with 6,836 points. She also led in many statistical categories. She led the league in rebounds (166) and ranked second in points (357), and owns single-game records for points (43), leaderboard points (790) and field goals (19).
