Athens Suburban Railway
The Athens Suburban Railway (), officially the Athens Suburban and Regional Railway, is a commuter rail service that connects the city of Athens and its metropolitan area with other places in Attica, Boeotia, Corinthia and the city of Chalcis in Euboea. The first section of the Suburban Railway, linking the main Athens railway station with the Athens International Airport, opened on 30 July 2004 – two weeks before the start of the 2004 Summer Olympics in the Greek capital. From 2005 to 2018, the network was gradually electrified and expanded to serve to the south, and to the west, and to the north. The Athens Suburban Railway is currently operated by Hellenic Train (formerly TrainOSE). OSE Class 460
The OSE Class 460 is the first class of electric trainsets (Electric multiple unit, EMU) in Greece and, together with the 621 class, it is the second most recent series of railcars operated by TRAINOSE after the 3107 class. They are OSE rolling stock and belong to the Desiro Classic generation, while they were manufactured by Siemens in 2006. They come in line with the OSE class 660, 660 class but their main difference is that the 460 is electric-powered with five coaches while the 660 is diesel-powered by two coaches but they have the same manufacturers and gauge. Class 460 trainsets can be coupled to another trainset on a double coupling to form an EMU-10, controlled by the driver of the leading cab. Corinth Railway Station
Corinth railway station () is a station in Corinth in the northern Peloponnese, Greece. It was opened on 27 September 2005, replacing an older station near the harbour. The new station is located from the town centre on the outskirts of the city, near Examilia near the A8 motorway between Athens and Patras. Athens Airport Station
Athens Airport (, ), also known as Athens International Airport (, ) on signage, is a railway station and metro station that serves the international airport of Athens, Greece. It operates on both the Athens Suburban Railway as well as Line 3 of the Athens Metro. It is the first and only train station in Greece that is not managed by GAIAOSE. It is owned by the airport, which charges the train operating companies (Hellenic Train and STASY) fees for its use. History The station opened on 30 July 2004, two weeks before the Athens Olympics.
