152 Atala is a large Asteroid belt, main belt asteroid that was discovered by brothers Paul Henry and Prosper Henry on 2 November 1875, but the discovery was credited to Paul. It is a D-type asteroid, type D asteroid, meaning that it is composed of carbon, organic compound, organic rich silicates and possibly water ice. The asteroid is named for the eponymous heroine of the 1801 novella ''Atala (novella), Atala'' by François-René de Chateaubriand. The Henry brothers also named the last of their discoveries, 186 Celuta, after another Chateaubriand heroine. Both Atala and Céluta are Native Americans in the United States, American Indian fictional characters.; An occultation of a star by Atala was observed from Japan on 11 March 1994. Subsequent occultations have been observed as recently as 2006. Atala spa is an Italian manufacturer of bicycles and exercise equipment. It was founded in 1907 by Angelo Gatti and has its headquarters in Monza, Italy. History The company was started by Angelo Gatti in 1907 and formally incorporated in Italy in 1921 by Cesare Rizzato. It is notable for its racing bicycles, winning several championships in the early 20th century. The company won some championships in the 1980s before experiencing financial difficulties. Part of the company was sold in 2002. Now 50% of the company is owned by the Accell Group. The company also produces bicycles for the brands Atala, Carraro Cicli, Whistle Bikes, Maino and Umberto Dei. Atala (district)
Atala is a neighbourhood in the northeast part of the city of Tampere, Finland, a few kilometers to the east from the border of the Kangasala city. Its neighboring neighborhoods are Holvasti in the south, Linnainmaa in the southwest and Tasanne in the north. The district was named after Ata Oy, which was founded in 1937 and manufactures spiral bevel gears. In the Atala district, there is a small shopping center with K-Market grocery store, pharmacy and barber's shop, primary school with grades 1–6, and two kindergartens. The services of the health center were transferred to the Linnainmaa district in 2017. () is an early novella by France, French author François-René de Chateaubriand, first published on 12 Germinal (French Republican Calendar), germinal IX (2 April 1801). The story is told from the point of view of the 73-year-old hero, Chactas, whose story is preserved by an oral tradition among the Seminoles. The work, at least partially inspired by his travels in North America, reflects the eighteenth-century French Romanticism and exoticism of its time and went through five editions in its first year. It was adapted frequently for stage, and translated into many languages. Along with ''René (novella), René'', ''Atala'' began as a discarded fragment from a long prose epic the author had composed between 1793 and 1799, ''Les Natchez'', which would not be made public until 1826. ''Eumaeus atala'', also known as the Atala butterfly or coontie hairstreak, is a small colorful butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is found in southeastern Florida (including the Florida Keys) in the United States, Cuba, the Bahamas, and the Cayman Islands in the West Indies. Its coloration and habits are unique among butterflies within its range. History The species was first described by the Cuban zoologist Felipe Poey. He named the butterfly for Atala, the Native American heroine of an 1801 French novella ('' Atala, ou Les Amours de deux sauvages dans le desert'' or in English: "Atala, or the Loves of two Indian savages in the desert") of the same name that was written by Chateaubriand. Saint Attala
Attala or Atala (died 622) was a disciple of Columbanus and his successor as abbot of Bobbio from 615. Attala was originally from Burgundy, and first became a monk at the abbey of Lérins. Displeased with the loose discipline prevailing there, he instead entered the abbey of Luxeuil, which had just been founded by Columbanus. When the latter was expelled from Luxeuil by King Theuderic II, Attala would have succeeded him as abbot, but preferred to follow him into exile. They settled on the banks of the river Trebbia, a little northeast of Genoa, where they together founded Bobbio. After the Columbanus' death in 615, Attala succeeded him as abbot. He and his monks suffered many hardships at the hands of King Arioald, who was an Arian and not a Catholic. As abbot, Attala insisted on strict discipline and when a large number of his monks rebelled, declaring his discipline too rigorous, he permitted them to leave the monastery. Léonise Valois
Léonise Valois (; October 11, 1868 – May 20, 1936) was a Canadian poet and journalist. She was a pioneer in Canadian women's journalism and was the first French Canadian woman to publish a collection of poetry. Biography The daughter of physician Louis-Joseph-Avila Valois and Marie-Louise Bourque, she was born Marie-Attala-Amanda-Léonise Valois in Vaudreuil, Quebec. She studied with the Sisters of Saint Anne in Vaudreui and then continued her studies at the convent of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in Beauharnois. After completing her education in 1883, Valois worked as bookkeeper for her father's medical practice and helping him with his patients. In 1886, the family moved to Sainte-Cunégonde. After her father's death in 1898, she worked at the registry office in Montreal to help support the family. Atala Apodaca Anaya (9 April 1884, Tapalpa — 31 August 1977, Guadalajara) was a Mexican teacher, feminist and revolutionary. She is considered a feminist pioneer in Mexico because she campaigned for the active role of women in society, in politics and for broad popular education as a means of emancipation and social change. Life Apodaca was one of four children of Julia Anaya and Praxedis Apodaca. The family belonged to the rural working class. She went to the ''Liceo de Niñas'' in the state of Jalisco until 1900. She then attended grammar school and trained as a teacher at the ''Escuela Normal para Señoritas'', where she graduated on 28 October 1903. Between 1903 and 1912, she worked as a teacher at various schools in Mexico, including the ''Escuela de Niñas de Guadalajara'' (1905–1913) and the ''Escuela Práctica Anexa a la Normal'' (1913–1914).
