Assumption Of Mary
The Assumption of Mary is one of the four Catholic Mariology#Dogmatic teachings, Marian dogmas of the Catholic Church. Pope Pius XII defined it on 1 November 1950 in his apostolic constitution as follows: It leaves open the question of whether Mary died or whether she was raised to Eternal life (Christianity), eternal life without bodily death. Dame Denise Assunta Coia, (4 June 1952 – 9 April 2020) was a Scottish psychiatrist and mental health advocate. Having originally trained in obstetrics, she retrained in psychiatry and spent the rest of her career working with and advocating for people in some of the most deprived communities in Scotland. Rocco D'Assunta (7 February 1904 – 27 January 1970) was an Italian actor, comedian and playwright. Life and career Born in Palermo, D'Assunta started acting at very young age with several Sicilian stage companies, including the ones led by Angelo Musco and Giovanni Grasso. At the beginning of the thirties he moved to Rome where he was part of the "Za-Bum Company" directed by Mario Mattoli, then he devoted himself to radio as a member of the "Teatro Comico Musicale" on Radio Roma that got him some popularity thanks to his comic monologues caricaturing typical Sicilian characters. He made his cinema debut in 1933, and was mainly cast in character roles of Sicilian people. He was also active on television. D'Assunta was also the author, under the pseudonym Roda, of the stage play ''Io, Angelo Musco'', which was first performed in 1962. ''Panciatichi Assumption'' (Italian: ''Assunta Panciatichi'') is a painting created c. 1522–1523 by the Italian Renaissance artist Andrea del Sarto. It is housed in the Galleria Palatina of Palazzo Pitti, Florence, Italy. History The painting was commissioned by Bartolomeo Panciatichi (the Elder) for a private altar in the French church of Notre-Dame-de-Confort, in Lyon; however, when finished, it remained in Italy. It was subsequently acquired by Bartolomeo Panciatichi the Younger, the man later portrayed by Agnolo Bronzino.
