Asia New Singer Competition
''Asia New Singer Competition'' () is a singing competition established by Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation in Shanghai, China, featuring younger and relatively unestablished contestants from many Asian countries, although contestants from Europe and Oceania have also participated and won awards. Some participants like Siti Nurhaliza, Misha Omar and Jaclyn Victor from Malaysia and My Tam from Vietnam would go on to become superstars in their countries. Shila Amzah later rose to fame in Asia after sign a record deal in Shanghai China. It is usually held with the Shanghai Music Festival, although recent editions have been held in Beijing and Penang, Malaysia. Summary Note: the "1st" competition in 1991 featured only Chinese singers and was simply called ''New Singer Competition'' (新人歌手大赛). Zhu Hong (朱虹) was the winner. ''Asian Wave'' is a 2012 Chinese reality singing talent show featuring contestants from many different Asian countries. The show premiered on 11 July 2012 on Dragon Television. On 20 September 2012, Malaysian singer-songwriter Shila Amzah won the competition by unanimous vote, after performing 3 songs (in the final rounds) in 3 languages ( Malay, English and Mandarin). Format The first 16 episodes, first shown between 11 July 2012 and 30 August 2012, feature competitions amongst 66 Greater China contestants (including music groups). Voice Of Asia
Voice of Asia (, ''Azııa Daýysy''; , ''Golos Azii'') is a music festival that has been held annually in Almaty, Kazakhstan since 1990. It features artists from all over Asia, Eastern Europe and other regions. The usual venue for the festival is the outdoor skating rink "Medeu", located on the mountainous outskirts of the Tian Shan, a few kilometers from the center of Almaty. The festival program includes concerts by popular performers and a vocal competition. Over the years, the festival's headliners have included international pop music stars such as Gloria Gaynor, Alla Pugacheva, Toto Cutugno, Patricia Kaas, Valery Leontiev, Boney M., Bаccara, Secret Service, Black Eyed Peas and others. Smokey Mountain was a Philippines, Filipino singing group formed by musical director, composer, and National Artist of the Philippines, National Artist for Music, Ryan Cayabyab, and executive producer Judd Berlin. The group was based in Manila, Philippines, and had James Coronel, Geneva Cruz, Jeffrey Hidalgo, and Tony Lambino as its original members.
