Artturi Ilmari Virtanen
Artturi Ilmari Virtanen (; 15 January 1895 – 11 November 1973) was a Finnish chemist and recipient of the 1945 Nobel Prize in Chemistry "for his research and inventions in agricultural and nutrition chemistry, especially for his fodder preservation method". He invented AIV silage which improved milk production and a method of preserving butter, the AIV salt, which led to increased Finnish butter exports. Personal life Artturi Ilmari Virtanen was born on 15 January 1895, in Helsinki, Finland . He is the son of Kaarlo Virtanen, a railway engine driver and Serafina Isotalo. He completed his school education at the Classical Lyceum in Viipuri, Finland. He married the botanist Lilja Moisio (1894-1972) in 1920 and had two sons with her. Artturi Lehkonen
Artturi Aleksanteri Lehkonen (born 4 July 1995) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected in the second round, 55th overall, by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2013 NHL entry draft, where he spent the first six seasons of his NHL career. Known as a defensively-minded forward, Lehkonen famously scored series-winning Overtime (ice hockey), overtime goals in two consecutive Stanley Cup semifinals against the Vegas Golden Knights (2021) and Edmonton Oilers (2022). Kustaa Artturi Järviluoma (9 August 1879 – 31 January 1942) was a Finnish journalist, screenwriter and author. Until 1902, he went by the name Jernström. He is best known for his play ''Pohjalaisia'' (The Ostrobothnians), which later formed the basis for a popular opera by Leevi Madetoja. Biography Järviluoma was born in Alavus and attended the Lyceum at Vaasa but dropped out of school. He passed his matriculation examination as a private student of the Helsinki Real Lyceum in 1901. He then attended the University of Helsinki, studying mathematics from 1902 to 1903 and then law from 1904 to 1909, but he did not complete a degree. He was a founding member of the Finnish Dramatists' Union in the 1920s and served as both secretary and chairman during the 1930s. Artturi Aleksanteri Leinonen (15 December 1888, Ylihärmä – 26 February 1963) was a Finnish schoolteacher, journalist, writer and politician. Artturi Vuorimaa
Artturi Vilho Vuorimaa (until 1923 Vilhelm Arthur Blomberg, August 8, 1890, Helsinki – October 28, 1972, Helsinki) was a Finnish Lapua movement activist, who played a key role in the Mäntsälä Rebellion in 1932. Childhood and family Vuorimaa attended seven classes Oulu Finnish co-educational school. He was married in 1910 to Emmi Maria Järvenpää (b. 1892). The couple had a total of five children, at least two of whom lived to adulthood. After attending school, Vuorimaa worked in Simo as a businessman and in various positions in the municipality, e.g. as a member of the municipality's first council. Artturi Jämsén
Artturi Jämsén (1925–1976) was a Finnish politician. He was a long-term member of the Finnish Parliament and the minister of interior between 1970 and 1971. He also served as the governor of Central Finland region. Biography Jämsén was born in Pihtipudas 7 February 1925. He was a high school graduate and a sergeant by military rank. He joined the Agrarian League. He was elected as a deputy on 29 March 1954, and his membership at the Parliament continued until 31 May 1971.
