Artturi Vuorimaa
Artturi Vilho Vuorimaa (until 1923 Vilhelm Arthur Blomberg, August 8, 1890, Helsinki – October 28, 1972, Helsinki) was a Finnish Lapua movement activist, who played a key role in the Mäntsälä Rebellion in 1932. Childhood and family Vuorimaa attended seven classes Oulu Finnish co-educational school. He was married in 1910 to Emmi Maria Järvenpää (b. 1892). The couple had a total of five children, at least two of whom lived to adulthood. After attending school, Vuorimaa worked in Simo as a businessman and in various positions in the municipality, e.g. as a member of the municipality's first council. Military career During the Finnish Civil War, on April 15, 1918, Vuorimaa was promoted to lieutenant. At least in 1926, Vuorimaa served as a lieutenant in the White Guard staff as a controller. Finnish National Socialist Labor Organisation
The Finnish National Socialist Labor Organisation ( Finnish: , SKT) was a Finnish Nazi party led by Teo Snellman. The movement that operated during the armistice and the Continuation War was also known as the National Reform Labor Organization (KUT) and the Finnish National Socialist Workers' Party (SKTP). The party's organ was ('Free Finland'), which appeared between 1940 and 1944. SKT and SKTP were abolished on the basis of Article 21 of the peace agreement concluded between Finland and the Soviet Union on September 23, 1944, immediately on the same day as the agreement was approved and entered into force. Founding Acting as a diplomat, Teo Snellman became bitter against the state when his career was interrupted in 1934 by a scandal. The Centre Party, ( , Kesk; , C) officially the Centre Party of Finland, is an agrarian-centrist political party in Finland. Ideologically, the Centre Party is positioned in the centre of the political spectrum. It has been described as being liberal, social-liberal, liberal-conservative, and conservative-liberal. Sääksjärvi
Sääksjärvi () is a lake in Kokemäki, Satakunta, western Finland, east from the town of Pori. The lake is notable because it overlies an impact crater. The crater is in diameter and is completely buried under the lake and is not visible at the surface. The age of the impact structure is estimated to be about 543 ± 12 Ma (million years ago), at the boundary between the Ediacaran and Cambrian periods. There are impactite rocks in the southwestern region from the crater confirming its extraterrestrial origin. At the time of its discovery, only one impact crater (Lappajärvi) was known in Finland. Lapua Movement
The Lapua Movement (, ) was a radical Finnish nationalist, fascist, pro- German and anti-communist political movement founded in and named after the town of Lapua. Led by Vihtori Kosola, it turned towards far-right politics after its founding and was banned after a failed coup d'etat attempt in 1932. The movement's anti-communist activities continued in the parliamentarian Patriotic People's Movement. Background At the 6th World Congress of the Communist International Joseph Stalin ordered all communist parties around the world to accelerate class struggle. The order led to a higher level of communist activity in Finland in 1929 like the so-called "Red Day" of August 1st when communists organized countrywide protests. A general strike was also declared in November, although it failed to garner support and only 5–10% of workers participated in it. House Of The Estates
The House of the Estates (, ) is a historical building in Helsinki, Finland. It is located opposite of the Bank of Finland building, immediately northeast of Helsinki Cathedral. Description It was built in 1888-1890 and inaugurated in January 1891. Architect Gustaf Nyström designed the building. The tympanum depicting Alexander I at the 1809 Diet of Finland was sculpted by Emil Wikström. It housed the three commoner estates of the four estates of the realm of Finland (see ''Diet of Finland''); there is a separate House of Nobility. The estates were superseded at the 1906 parliamentary reform by the foundation of the unicameral parliament of Finland. The parliament settled elsewhere, leaving the House of the Estates for secondary usage. Today, the House of the Estates houses sporadic governmental meetings.
