Jireh Industries is an electronic control module manufacturer which primarily manufacturers robotic corrosion scanners and welding scanners for use in the petroleum industry. The company's headquarters are in Ardrossan, Alberta, with additional offices in Houston and Rotterdam. Background Jireh Industries was founded in the early 1980s. In 1987, the company built a food processing machine that created potatoes of a uniform size and shape; this was achieved by making an artificial potato skin out of bran and starch in a metal mold and subsequently pumping a mashed potato solution therein. Following the creation of this machine, the Edmonton Journal stated that the company had "built a reputation as machine shop innovators." Donald Ross Getty (August 30, 1933 – February 26, 2016) was a Canadian athlete, businessman, and politician who served as the 11th premier of Alberta between 1985 and 1992. Before entering politics, Getty had been a quarterback for the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. He passed for more than eight thousand yards over his ten-year career. A member of the Progressive Conservatives, he served as Energy Minister and Federal and Intergovernmental Affairs Minister in the government of Peter Lougheed before leaving politics for the private sector in 1979.
