Aronda Nyakairima
Aronda Nyakairima (7 July 1959 – 12 September 2015) was a Ugandan military officer and politician who served in the cabinet of Uganda as minister of internal affairs from 2013 until his death on 11 September 2015. Previously, he served as the chief of defence forces in the Uganda People's Defence Force (UPDF) from 2003 to 2013. Early life and education Nyakairima was born in Rukungiri District. He attended ''Lubiri Senior Secondary School'' for his O-Level studies from 1971 until 1974. Between 1975 and 1977, he studied at ''Kitgum High School'' in Kitgum District for his A-Level education. He joined Makerere University in 1978, graduating in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He attended the basic officers course in 1989, after the National Resistance Army (NRA) had captured power in Kampala, Uganda's capital city. Rukungiri District
Rukungiri District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda. The town of Rukungiri is the site of the district headquarters. Location The district is bordered by Lake Edward to the North West, Rubirizi District to the northeast, Mitooma District to the northeast and east, Ntungamo District to the east and southeast, Rukiga District and Rubanda District to the south, Kanungu District to the west, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo via Lake Edward to the northwest. Kitgum District
Kitgum District is a Districts of Uganda, district in Northern Region, Uganda, Northern Uganda. It is named after its major town of Kitgum, where the district headquarters is located. It has suffered much fatalities and social disruption resulting from the 20-year civil war in the region during the late 20th century. The government moved tens of thousands of residents to internally displaced persons camps for their protection, where they were subject to raids by the rebels and also harsh conditions, including disease. Luganda
Ganda or Luganda ( ; ) is a Bantu language spoken in the African Great Lakes region. Katumba Wamala
Edward Katumba Wamala (born 19 November 1956), commonly known as Katumba Wamala, is a Ugandan military officer and politician who serves as Minister of Works and Transport in the Ugandan cabinet, since 14 December 2019. Prior to his current position, from 17 January 2017 until 14 December 2019, he served as Minister of State for Works in the Ugandan cabinet. He also served as the chief of staff of the Uganda People's Defense Force (UPDF), from 2013 until 2017, and was the commander of the UPDF's ground forces from 2005 to 2013. He also served as the inspector general of police (IGP) of the Uganda Police Force (UPF), the highest rank in that branch of Uganda's government, from 2001 until 2005. Richard Rhys Jones
Lieutenant General Richard Rhys Jones (born 2 May 1960) is a retired senior New Zealand Army officer, who was the Chief of the New Zealand Defence Force from 2011 to 2014. He was succeeded by Lieutenant General Tim Keating. Early life Jones was born in Timaru and is the son of Methodist minister Alan Jones.
