Armand Hammer is an American hip hop duo from New York City that was formed around 2013. The duo consists of Billy Woods and Elucid. Career In September 2013, Armand Hammer released a mixtape, ''Half Measures''. It was produced by Steel Tipped Dove, Blockhead, Uncommon Nasa, and Small Pro, among others. In October that year, the duo released the first studio album, ''Race Music'', which was produced by the likes of Steel Tipped Dove, Marmaduke, Willie Green, and Blue Sky Black Death. ''Tiny Mix Tapes'' called it "a potent record about life, art, sex, drugs, politics, and violence." ''The Village Voice'' included it on the "10 Best New York City Rap Albums of 2013" list. Originally released on vinyl only, the album was later released digitally, on cassette (by PTP), and on CD. Billy Woods
Billy Woods (born 1978) is an American rapper based in New York. He is the founder of the record label Backwoodz Studioz, and has been a member of Armand Hammer, Super Chron Flight Brothers, and The Reavers. Early life Billy Woods was born in Washington, D.C. His mother was an English literature professor from Jamaica, and his father was a Marxist intellectual from Zimbabwe; the two met while Woods' father was pursuing a Ph.D. in the United States. During the Zimbabwe War of Independence, Woods' father lived in "political exile", but in 1980 the family moved to Zimbabwe and Woods' father entered the Zimbabwean government. Later in the 1980s, Woods' father died. Around a year and a half later, in 1989, Woods and his mother returned to the United States and moved to Washington D.C. Max Heath, better known by his stage name Child Actor (formerly Circadion), is an American underground hip hop producer and founding member of the dream pop duo also known as Child Actor. History Child Actor was formed by cousins Max Heath and Sedgie Ogilvy. They released the ''Partner'' EP in February 2012 and the ''Window'' EP in July 2012. Their first album, ''Victory'', was released on Fake Four Inc. on October 16, 2012. Kenny Segal (born December 3, 1979), also known as Syndakit, is an American record producer and DJ based in Los Angeles, California. In 2018, ''Mixmag'' described him as "one of the best hip-hop producers in the city." He has been a member of Team Supreme, The Kleenrz, and The Jefferson Park Boys. Early life Kenny Segal was born and raised in Rockville, Maryland. He played cello in school orchestras. He attended University of Southern California on a computer engineering scholarship.
