Argocat
Argo is a Canadian manufacturer of amphibious all-terrain vehicles. It was founded in 1962 as Ontario Drive and Gear (ODG) Limited, in Kitchener, Ontario and was later moved to New Hamburg, Ontario. Argo offers Six-wheel drive, 6×6 and Eight-wheel drive, 8×8 amphibious extreme terrain vehicles, as well as 4 wheel ATVs. History Founded in 1962 in Kitchener, Ontario. ODG helped design the transmission for the Amphicat. ODG manufactures 8×8 vehicles and 6×6 vehicles for recreational and industrial use. In November 2009, volunteers in twelve communities in Nunavut were each equipped with an Argo Avenger, one of ODG's 8×8 vehicles, for local Search and Rescue. Recently, ODG was asked to help the Canadian Space Agency in designing a lunar vehicle. The Argo is an all-terrain 8×8 or 6×6 amphibious ATV / UTV / XTV. Canadian American Strategic Review
The Canadian American Strategic Review was an influential Canadian think-tank that comments on Canadian Defence and sovereignty issues. The think-tank operated, for many years, from the campus of Simon Fraser University. It shut down in 2016. Terrapin (amphibious Vehicle)
The Terrapin (officially 4-ton amphibian) was a British-manufactured amphibious vehicle, amphibious transport vehicle of the Second World War. It was first used in 1944 at Antwerp during the Battle of the Scheldt. Terrapins served with the Royal Engineers, Royal Engineer assault teams of the 79th Armoured Division and were used to carry infantry units (Canadian and British) over rivers. An amphibious vehicle (or simply amphibian) is a vehicle that works both on land and on or under water. In Greek mythology, the ''Argo'' ( ; ) was the ship of Jason and the Argonauts. The ship was built with divine aid, and some ancient sources describe her as the first ship to sail the seas. The ''Nebraska Farmer'' was the first agricultural publication in the state and is, at present, one of the oldest run journals in Nebraska. New Hamburg, Ontario
New Hamburg is a community of approximately 11,953 (2011 stats) in the township of Wilmot, Ontario, Canada. It is in the far western part of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, near the regional border with Perth County. It is adjacent to the community of Baden, which sits to its east and is also a part of the township of Wilmot. The nearest cities are Kitchener, Waterloo, and Stratford. The Nith River winds throughout the town and flows through the downtown core, which is home to a 50-foot waterwheel made of wood, being built in 1990.
