Archery At The 2019 Pan American Games
Archery competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between August 7 and 11, 2019 at the Archery field in the Villa María del Triunfo cluster. In 2017, Panam Sports added compound archery, compound events (individual and mixed team), marking the first time ever the discipline has been held at the Pan American Games. Also in 2017, the International Olympic Committee approved the addition of a mixed team event in the recurve discipline, which meant it was subsequently added to these games' event program. This means a total of eight events will be held: three each for men and women, along with two mixed events. The highest ranked athlete in each individual recurve event (that has not yet qualified) will earn a quota spot for their country at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan along with the top mixed recurve team. Archery At The 2015 Pan American Games
Archery competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto was held from July 14 to 18 at Varsity Stadium. Just like in the Archery at the Summer Olympics, Olympics, the archery competition was conducted using the recurve bow. A total of four archery events were held: two each for men and women. The 2015 World Archery Championships were scheduled for later in July, to not conflict with the games. Venue The competitions took place at the Varsity Stadium, located on the downtown campus of the University of Toronto. The facility is about five kilometers from the West Don Lands#Canary District, athletes village. The stadium will have a capacity of 2,000 people per session. Aída Nabila Román Arroyo (born May 21, 1988) is a Mexican archer. A three-time Olympian, she won silver medal in the women's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was the women's World Indoor Archery Champion in 2014. Mariana Avitia Martínez (born September 18, 1993) is a Mexican recurve archer. She was the first Mexican to win an Olympic medal in archery after taking bronze in the women's individual event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. She is also the youngest Mexican athlete to compete in two Olympic Games, contesting both the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2010 Summer Youth Olympics by the age of seventeen. He holds the record for the longest continuous period as the world number-one-ranked men's recurve archer, from August 2011 to April 2013.
