Arayesh-E Khorshid
''Arayesh-E Khorshid'' (; ''Make the Sun'') is the tenth studio album by Iranian singer-songwriter and guitarist Kourosh Yaghmaei. The album includes a collection of Iranian folk songs that was released in 2000 by Ahang Rooz in Iran. It also censored one track before it was released. It features a traditional Persian folk song "Mastom, Mastom" ("Drunk, Drunk") which verse refers to an unrequited or impossible love. Background Following the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Yaghmaei spent over a month for recording three ''Sol-e'' series albums. Initially this album was recorded as ''Sol-e 3''. Where, ''Sol-e 1'' was reissued in 1979 on CD as ''Parandeye Mohajer'' by Los Angeles-based record label Caltex Records, and ''Sol-e 2'' was recorded with Fereydoon Foroughi and released in 1980. Kourosh Yaghmaei
Kourosh Yaghmaei ( fa, کورش یغمایی also spelled as Kourosh Yaghmaee; born 3 December 1946) is an Iranian singer-songwriter, composer and record producer, who started his career in the early 1970s. Regarded as one of the greatest Persian psychedelic rock musicians in the history of Iranian rock music, he is known as "the Godfather of Iranian psychedelic rock", as well as "the king of rock". Born in 1946 in Shahrud to Parsi parents, he later grew up in Tehran. Most of his songs are a combination of Persian classical poems, his own lyrics, and contemporary poems. His styles of music are a mixture of Persian traditional music and the protein 1970s rock influenced by bands and artists such as Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. He has significant styles in blues and rock as well as Iranian folk music. He is best known internationally for his unique presentation of the early Iranian rock throughout the 1970s. Funk is a music genre that originated in African Americans, African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of various music genres that were popular among African Americans in the mid-20th century. It de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove (music), groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a drum kit, percussionist, often at slower tempos than other popular music. The Iranian Revolution ( fa, انقلاب ایران, Enqelâb-e Irân, ), also known as the Islamic Revolution ( fa, انقلاب اسلامی, Enqelâb-e Eslâmī), was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, and the replacement of his government with an Islamic republic under the rule of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, a leader of one of the factions in the revolt. Fereydoon Foroughi ( fa, فریدون فروغی; 29 January 1951 – 5 October 2001) was an Iranian singer, musician and composer. He contributed greatly to Iranian music and arts and his unique voice and style soon caught on with the people. In addition to his studies in acting, playing the guitar, piano and organ he also composed music. His style was inspired by jazz and blues. Early life and education Fereydoon was born on Monday, January 29, 1951 in the Salsabil neighborhood of Tehran. His father, Fathullah, was a tobacco worker and wrote poetry and strings on his own. His paternal family was one of the great landowners of Naraq. At first, Farhad's was chosen his name by his father, but at the request of his grandfather, his name was changed to Fereydoon.
