Aqif Përmeti
Aqif Përmeti (28 November 1884 – 14 April 1945) was an Albanian military officer and politician. He served as Minister of Defence during the Italian occupation of Albania. In 1944 he was arrested by the communist regime and a year later was sentenced to death and executed on April 14 in Tirana. Biography Përmeti was born in around 1884 in Përmet, then a part of the Janina Vilayet of Ottoman Empire. He attended a military academy in Istanbul. In 1915, Përmeti moved to the United States. Later, Përmeti returned to Europe to command an Albanian-American battalion of the United States Army. In 1920, Përmeti returned to Albania to support the recently created Delvina Government. Përmeti then joined the Albanian military and served as a commander in southern Albania. In 1924, he served as the commander of the Tiranë gendarmerie. The Special Court for War Criminals and Enemies of the People (), usually referred only as The Special Court (), was a Socialist court set up during the spring of 1945 (1 March – 13 April) in the newly established Socialist Albania, which carried on the trial against those labeled as "people's enemies" and "war criminals". It was based on a decision taken by the Anti-Fascist Council of National Liberation on 25 December 1944. Like the rest of the Eastern Europe, the purge against fascists and war criminals became a central part of the construction of society based on the Soviet model. Lorenzo "Renzo" Dalmazzo (January 23, 1886 – December 12, 1959) was an Italian lieutenant general and corps and army commander during World War II. Military career On 3 June 1918, he received the Knight's Military Order of Italy (5th Class). He served in the colony of Italian Somaliland in 1925–1926 and in Italian East Africa in 1936, where he led the Italian 2nd Eritrean Division during the Second Italo-Ethiopian War. On 24 May 1937, he received the Officer's Military Order of Italy (4th Class). He returned to Italy and became commander of the 2nd Cavalry Division "Emanuele Filiberto Testa di Ferro". Ahmet Zogu
Zog I (born Ahmed Muhtar Zogolli; 8 October 18959 April 1961) was the leader of Albania from 1922 to 1939. At age 27, he first served as Albania's youngest ever Prime Minister (1922–1924), then as president (1925–1928), and finally as King (1928–1939). Born to an aristocratic beylik family in Ottoman Albania, Zogolli was active in Albanian politics from a young age and fought on the side of Austria-Hungary during the First World War.
