Appan Menon
Appan Menon (17 September 1947 – 28 June 1996) was a senior Indian print and television journalist, most known News editor and anchor with NDTV. He anchored the international news show ''The World This Week'' on Doordarshan in 1980s and moved to NDTV when it was established in 1988. Career Starting as an agency reporter, Menon worked with news agencies PTI and UNI, and also covered the United Nations Headquarters for Inter Press Service and specialized in Latin American politics. Then he moved to print media working with ''The Hindu'' newspaper and '' Frontline'' magazine. Eventually he moved to television, where he anchored ''The World This Week'' first with state-run Doordarshan and subsequently with NDTV and became its leading news anchor along with Prannoy Roy He died in his sleep early morning on 28 June 1996 at the age of 48, at the time of death he was news editor with NDTV. Thacheth Neelakanta Menon, better known as Appan Thacheth (10 November 1937 – 2 July 2011), was a Malayalam-language poet and lyricist from Kerala, India. Thacheth was born in 1937 in Elamkulam, Cochin, as the son of Kandaveli Achuthan Pillai and Elamkulam Thacheth Sanikutty Amma. After completing his bachelor's degree in Arts and diploma in business management, he joined Larson and Toubro in Madras. He worked at the Madras Atomic Power Station, Abu Dhabi International Airport and Lotus Temple in Delhi Delhi, officially the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, is a city and a union territory of India containing New Delhi, the capital of India. Shash Appan
Shash Appan is a Welsh LGBT+ and anti-racist activist. A co-founder of Trans Aid Cymru, she also serves as a director of the Trans Safety Network. She has also advocated for tenant rights, co-founding a website for tenants in Cardiff to anonymously rate their landlords. Early life and education Appan is of Indian descent, and grew up in Birmingham. She came out to her parents at the age of 18 but they were not accepting. After she made a suicide attempt they had her sectioned, then sent her to live in isolation with her grandparents in India for two years, before persuading them to let her return to Britain. After a period of homelessness, Appan received an offer to study computer science at Cardiff Metropolitan University and moved to the city. ''Appan'' () is a 2022 Indian Malayalam-language tragedy-drama film co-written and directed by Maju and jointly produced by Josekutty Madathil and Ranjith Manambarakkat under the banners of Sunny Wayne Productions and Tiny Hands Productions. The film stars Wayne as a rubber tapper, with Ananya, Alencier Ley Lopez, Grace Antony, and Pauly Valsan featuring in major supporting roles. The cinematography of ''Appan'' was done by Pappu and was edited by Kiran Das. The soundtrack was composed by Dawn Vincent.
