Anu Põder
Anu Põder (17 November 1947 – 17 January 2013) was an Estonian visual artist. Põder was born in Kanepi. She graduated from Tartu 8th Secondary School (now, the Tartu Forseliuse School) in 1967, then enrolled at the Tartu Art College later that year before leaving in 1970 to study sculpture at the Estonian National Art Institute, graduating in 1976. From In 1976 until 1988, she was a freelance artist and from 1988 until 1989, she was a teacher of form studies at Secondary School No. 46 in Tallinn. In 1989, she began working as an art teacher at the Tallinn Art School, leaving in 1993 for a position as a teacher of form at the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 1998, she began working as a teacher of form at the College of Applied Arts of the Estonian Academy of Arts, and in-service teacher training courses. Kanepi
Kanepi is a small borough (') in Kanepi Parish, Põlva County in southeastern Estonia. Hugo Treffner (1845–1912), educator, founder of the Hugo Treffner Gymnasium was born in Kanepi as a son of a family of local parish clerk. The Estonian Academy of Arts ( Estonian: ''Eesti Kunstiakadeemia'', EKA) is the only public university in Estonia providing higher education in art, design, architecture, media, art history and conservation-restoration. Art Museum Of Estonia
The Art Museum of Estonia ( et, Eesti Kunstimuuseum) was established in 1919. Originally based in Kadriorg Palace, the museum has expanded across several sites and today exhibits both international and local art works. At the end of the 1970s, in the 1980s the first branches of the Art Museum of Estonia were founded. Starting in 1995, all of the branches offer different educational programmes for children and young people. In 1996 the exhibition hall on the first floor of Rotermann Salt Storage was opened; this branch was closed in May 2005.
