Antoni Elliger
Anthony Elliger (1701-1781) was an 18th-century painter from the Dutch Republic. Ottomar Elliger II
Ottomar or Ottmar Elliger the Younger (1666–1735) was a Dutch painter from Germany. Biography He was born in Hamburg as the son of the Danish painter Ottomar Elliger the Elder.Ottomar Elliger (II) in the RKD After being instructed in the first elements of the art by his father, he was sent to Amsterdam, where he became a scholar of Michiel van Musscher, a painter of small portraits and conversations, under whom he studied a short time, but being ambitious of distinguishing himself in a higher walk of art, and the works of Gerard de Lairesse being then in high reputation, he entered the school of that eminent master, whose instruction enabled him in a few years to dispense with further assistance. Christina Houbraken
Christina Houbraken (c. 1695–1760s) was an 18th-century artist from the Dutch Republic. Biography She was born in Dordrecht as the fourth of ten children of Arnold Houbraken.Christina Houbraken in historici.nl In 1724 she married the painter Anthony Elliger in Amsterdam, where the couple both lived. They had three daughters, of whom Christina Maria Elliger became a notable pastel artist. Her death date is not certain, but by 1773 her husband was living in Haarlem and there is no mention of her there or after that when he moved to Ede, Netherlands, Ede. Arnold Houbraken
Arnold Houbraken (28 March 1660 – 14 October 1719) was a Dutch people, Dutch Painting, painter and writer from Dordrecht, now remembered mainly as a biographer of Dutch Golden Age painters. Life Houbraken was sent first to learn ''threadtwisting'' (Twyndraat) from Johannes de Haan, who introduced him to engraving. After two years he then studied art with Willem van Drielenburch, who he was with during the rampjaar, the year 1672. He then studied 9 months with Jacobus Leveck and finally, four years with Samuel van Hoogstraten. In 1685 he married Sara Sasbout, and around 1709 he moved from Dordrecht to Amsterdam. Arnold Houbraken painted mythological and religious paintings, portraits and landscapes. He is best known for the art history, art historical work ''The Great Theatre of Dutch Painters'' (1718–1721). Jan Gerard Waldorp
Jan Gerard Waldorp (1740–1808) was a Dutch artist and museum curator. He received all paying visitors to the Nationale Kunst-Galerij in the Hague (1800–1805), one of the forerunners of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Jurriaan Andriessen (artist)
Jurriaan Andriessen (12 July 1742 – 31 July 1819) was a Dutch decorative painter and graphic artist. Biography Andriessen was born and died in Amsterdam. His father was from Brandenburg and his mother was from Holstein. He began his art studies at the age of twelve with the decorative painter Anthony Elliger. Four years later, he worked with Jan Maurits Quinkhard.Profile in the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie. In 1760, he attended the Technical School in Amsterdam and was awarded first prize for his graduation work in 1766. That same year, he was accepted as a member of the Guild of Saint Luke and received a major order for wall decorations at the Huis te Manpad in Heemstede.
