Annai (2000 Film)
''Annai'' is a 2000 Tamil language drama film directed by Manobala. The film stars Bhanupriya, Nassar and Baby Sadhika while Ramesh Khanna, Manobala, and Mayilswamy among others form an ensemble cast. Music for the film was composed by Dhina and the film opened to mixed reviews in February 2000. Plot A wealthy widow named Kanagamahalakshmi (Bhanupriya), who loses her husband ( Nassar) and unborn child in a car crash, opts to look after an orphan child for a period of one month every year. Her decision operates smoothly for a few years. However, when the child, Anjali (Baby Sadhika), returns to the house for a third year, problems begin to arise. She expresses her distaste at the various deficiencies of Kanagamahalakshmi's household, including her foster parent itself. How Anjali makes the members in the house behave properly forms the rest of the story. Bhanupriya
Bhanupriya (born Mangabhanu; 15 January 1967) is an Indian actress, Kuchipudi dancer, and voice artist. In a career spanning over 4 decades, Bhanupriya has appeared in 155 feature films- predominantly in Telugu & Tamil, in addition to occasional performances in Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi films as well. She has started in a variety of roles, ranging from slapstick comedy-to-epic dramas. Dhina
Dhina (also credited as Dheena) ( ta, தினா; born on 15 January 1966) is an Indian film and television series composer from Tamil Nadu, India. Biography and career Dhina first worked as an assistant musician under popular composer G. K. Venkatesh, later being engaged by Maestro Ilaiyaraaja as a music conductor. He later became a music director for several Tele serials scoring for the title tracks. Some of his popular title scores for the serials include '' Chitthi'', ''Annamalai'', ''Ninaivugal'', ''Payanam'', ''Nambikkai'', ''Chellamay'', ''Metti Oli'' among others. Anuradha Sriram (born 9 July 1970) is an Indian carnatic and playback singer and child actress who hails from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. She has sung more than 700 songs in Tamil, Telugu, Sinhala, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and Hindi films. Halwa Vasu
Vasu, popularly known as Halwa Vasu, (died 17 August 2017) was a comedian in the Tamil film industry in India. He worked in around 900 films. Career Vasu who hailed from Madurai district, came to Chennai to work in cinemas after his graduation. Vasu worked as an assistant to director-actor Manivannan, he carved a niche for himself in comedy films and has also acted alongside the likes of Vadivelu. Nassar (actor)
M. Nassar (born 5 March 1958) is an Indian actor, director, producer, dubbing artist, singer and politician who mainly works in the Tamil and Telugu film industries he has also worked in few Malayalam, English and Hindi films. He is the incumbent president of the Nadigar Sangam. Early life and education Nassar was born on 5 March 1958 to Mehaboob Basha and Mumtaz in Tamil Nadu, India.
