Angel Daleman
Angel Mila Diana Daleman (born 25 March 2007) is a Dutch speed skater who competes in both short track speed skating and long track speed skating. Career Short track At the 2022 World Junior Short Track Speed Skating Championships held in Gdańsk, Poland in March 2022 Daleman won silver medals at the 1500m and the 3000m relay. Long track In February 2023 Daleman became the junior world speed skating champion in Inzell, Germany. At 15 years and 327 days she was the youngest junior world champion ever. At the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics held in Gangwon Province, South Korea between 19 January and 1 February 2024, Daleman won the gold medal at all three women's speed skating events; 500m, 1500m and mass start, as well as a bronze medal in the mixed relay. In February 2024 she became the junior world speed skating champion in Hachinohe, Japan, winning five of the seven events. Speed skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the competitors race each other in travelling a certain distance on skates. Types of speed skating are long track speed skating, short track speed skating, and marathon speed skating. In the Olympic Games, long-track speed skating is usually referred to as just "speed skating", while short-track speed skating is known as "short track". The International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of competitive ice sports, refers to long track as "speed skating" and short track as "short track skating". The Max Aicher Arena (in the past also known as Eisstadion Inzell and Ludwig-Schwabl-Stadion) is a stadium located in Inzell, Germany, best known as a speed skating venue. It is an indoor, artificial ice rink, located 690 metres (2,264 feet) above sea level and has a capacity of 10,000 people. Since its opening, as an outdoor venue, towards the end of 1965, more than 80 world records in speed skating have been broken here, and until the advent of indoor speed skating arenas, it was known as the fastest European speed skating rink, second in the world after the Medeu rink. Thialf
Thialf is an ice arena in Heerenveen, Netherlands. Thialf consists of the Thialf-hal (a 12,500-capacity speed skating venue) and the Elfstedenhal (a 2,500-capacity ice hockey venue). Thialf is used for long track speed skating, short track speed skating, ice hockey, figure skating, ice speedway, and non-sporting events. Suzanne Schulting (; born 25 September 1997) is a Dutch short track speed skater who is also active as a long track speed skater. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, she won the Netherlands' first-ever gold medal in short track speed skating and became one of the youngest-ever Dutch Winter Olympic champions. She is also a two-time overall World Champion (2019, 2021) and three-time overall European Champion (2019, 2020, 2021), and the current world record holder for 1000m.
