Anfisa Letyago
Anfisa Letyago (born 6th March 1990) is a Russian Naples-based disc jockey and electronic music producer. Letyago has achieved recognition as a Techno DJ, including being named as "DJ of the Year" at the Billboard Italia Women in Music awards. Career Letyago was born in Russia, and has an Italian father. Her family has been based in Naples since and she began her DJ career there in 2009. Her break came about after meeting DJ Carl Cox in 2018, who began playing her records. Leyago styles her music as "groovy techno". In 2019 she started the ''N:S:DA'' record label. In 2022 Letyago was featured in music magazine Mixmag, including providing an "energising" cover mix. Later in 2022 Letyago released the track "Rosso Profondo" with some controversy due to an accusation of plagiarism, which she denied. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempos being in the range from 120 to 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time ( ) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. Drum machines from the 1980s such as Roland's Roland TR-808 and Roland TR-909 are highly prized, and software emulations of such retro instruments are popular in this style. Essential Mix
The ''Essential Mix'' is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 and 2:00 a.m. UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the ''Essential Mix'' features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. DMC World
The DMC World DJ Championships is an annual DJ competition founded by the Disco Mix Club (DMC) which began in 1985. It has been described as a "pre-eminent competitive DJ event". History Competitors are each given 6 minutes to perform, with winners selected at the end. Championships were sponsored internationally by Technics, but in 2010 Technics was replaced by Serato and Rane. Since 2011, the vinyl emulation software Serato Scratch Live can be used during the competition in addition to traditional vinyl. The first championship, held in the London Hippodrome in 1985, was won by Londoner Roger Johnson.
