''Worms'' is a series of artillery tactical video games developed by British company Team17. In these games, small platoons of anthropomorphic worms battle each other across a destructible landscape with the objective being to become the sole surviving team. The games are noted for their cartoony animation and extensive use of surrealism and slapstick humour. The game, whose concept was devised by Andy Davidson, was described by the Amiga gaming press as a cross between '' Cannon Fodder'' and '' Lemmings''. It is part of a wider genre of turn-based artillery games involving projectile weapons; similar games include ''Scorched Earth'' (1991), '' Gorillas'' (1991) and '' Artillery Duel'' (1983). Video Game Journalism
Video game journalism (also called games journalism or video game criticism) is a specialized branch of journalism that covers various aspects of video games, including game reviews, industry news, and player culture, typically following a core "reveal–preview–review" cycle. Originating in the 1970s with print-based magazines and trade publications, video game journalism evolved alongside the video game industry itself, shifting from niche columns in general entertainment and computing magazines to dedicated publications. Major early contributors to the field included magazines like ''Electronic Games'' and ''Famitsu'', which set the stage for more comprehensive consumer-focused coverage. With the advent of the internet, video game journalism expanded to web-based outlets and video platforms, where independent online publications, blogs, YouTube channels, and eSports coverage gained significant influence. Throughout its history, video game journalism has grappled with ethica ...

As with the previous games in the series, players take turns controlling their teams and using available projectiles, firearms, explosives, and equipment to destroy all opposing teams and manoeuvre across a specified and highly destructible map. Although fairly well received upon release, the overall reception of ''Worms World Party'' has subsequently become mixed amongst the ''Worms'' community. Some found it to be an improvement to an already good game, whilst others saw it as being too derivative of its predecessor and not worthwhile for ''Worms Armageddon'' players. ''Worms World Party'' was the last two-dimensional title in the main series before transitioning to 3D graphics, with '' Worms 3D'' as the first fully 3D ''Worms'' title. Gameplay Like its predecessors, ''Worms World Party'' is a side-scrolling video g ...
