Andreas Olsen Sæhlie
Andreas Olsen Sæhlie (1 August 1832 – 27 August 1895) was a Norwegian farmer, distillery owner and politician. He was born in Vang, Hedmark, Vang, Hedmark. His daughter Christiane was married to Colonel Birger Eriksen. Sæhlie inherited his father's farm and distillery, which he expanded significantly. At its heights, his distillery delivered 10% of the total amount of potato-based spirits traded in Norway. He was elected representative to the Storting for the periods 1868–1870, 1871–1873, 1874–1876 and 1877–1879. As a politician he first represented the Liberal Party (Norway), Liberal Party, and later the Conservative Party (Norway), Conservative Party. Vang, Hedmark
Vang is a former municipality in the old Hedmark county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1992 when it became part of Hamar Municipality. The administrative centre of the municipality was at Fredvang. This site, however became part of the town of Hamar in 1946, so after that time, the municipal administration was actually located outside the municipal borders in the neighboring municipality. The main church for the municipality was Vang Church in the village of Ridabu. Gåsbu Ski Center lies in Vang Almenning, and has served as the backup venue for the ''Holmenkollrennene''. This arena has been described as the cradle of all Nordic ski competition, with more than 112 years of international ski competition. The national cross-country skiing championship was last held here in 2002. It is the major party of the Norwegian centre-right, and was the leading party in government as part of the Solberg cabinet from 2013 to 2021. Birger Eriksen
Birger Kristian Eriksen (17 November 1875 – 16 July 1958) was a Norway, Norwegian military officer (with the rank of Military ranks and insignia of Norway, Oberst) who was instrumental in stopping the first wave of ''Gruppe 5'' of the German invasion force outside Oslo. Eriksen was the commander of Oscarsborg Fortress when Nazi Germany attacked Norway in the early hours of 9 April 1940. He gained lasting recognition for ordering the fortress under his command to open fire on the vanguard forces of Operation Weserübung, sinking the 16,000-ton heavy cruiser German cruiser Blücher, ''Blücher''. Liberal Party (Norway)
The Liberal Party (, , V; ) is a social liberal political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and is the oldest political party in Norway. Despite its native name, the Liberal Party is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and usually cooperates much more with the right wing parties. It is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling.
