Anand (1987 Film)
''Anand'' is a 1987 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film, directed by C. V. Rajendran and produced by Sivaji Productions. The film stars Prabhu, Radha and Jayashree. A remake of the 1987 Telugu film '' Majnu'', it was released on 20 November 1987. Cast Soundtrack Soundtrack was composed by Ilaiyaraaja. Lyrics were by Gangai Amaran. ''Anand'' was the first Tamil film since the 1950s where Lata Mangeshkar sang; she performed without taking remuneration out of respect for Prabhu's father Sivaji Ganesan. The song "I Want To Tell You Something" is unique in Tamil cinema as the chorus is entirely in English. The song "Aararo Aararo" is set in the raga Kalyani, and "Ola Kudisaiyile" is set to Shivaranjani. Narayanan, better known by his stage name Sivachandran, is an Indian actor, director, and writer who was active in Tamil cinema mostly in the 1980s. Career Sivachandran was originally offered to act in ''Kizhakke Pogum Rail'' (1978), but declined. Yecha Gunja Mahendran (born 9 January 1950), also known as Y. G. Mahendran or Y. G. Mahendra, is an Indian actor, dramatist, singer, playwright and comedian from the state of Tamil Nadu. Subha is the name used by the writing partnership of D. Suresh and A. N. Balakrishnan, who write stories, detective novels and screenplays in Tamil. Work The duo began co-authoring stories when they were in college together, and have been publishing their work since 1979. They have published more than 450 short novels and more than 400 short stories. Most of their detective novels feature the characters Narendran and Vaijayanthi of Eagle Eye Detective Agency, and their coworker John Sundar. Other characters created by Subha are Selva and Murugesan, who also feature in their detective stories, and John Sembaruthi, who is a character in some of Subha's novels set in the army. Shivaranjani or Sivaranjani is a musical scale used in Indian classical music. There are two scales, one in Hindustani music and one in Carnatic music. Kalyani (raga)
Kalyani is a melakarta raga (parent musical scale) in the Carnatic music. It is the prati madhyama equivalent of the raga Sankarabharanam. It was called Kalyan but is now more popularly called Yaman in Hindustani Music. Its Western equivalent is the Lydian mode. Shabbir Ahmed, better known by his stage name Sathyajith, is an Indian actor known for his work in Tamil language films, most notably his career debut ''16 Vayathinile'' (1977). Career Shabbir Ahmed studied at the Madras Film Institute in 1976. While studying in his second year, he shot for the film '' Naam Pirandha Mann'' (1977).
