Ameera Lee
Ameera Lee (born 1 February 1974) is an Australian Paralympic archer. She competed at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Personal Lee was born on 1 February 1974. She has multiple sclerosis. She is a single mother with a son – Huthaifa. She is a medical secretary. Archery She took up para archery in 2016 after being encouraged by her fifteen-year-old son. She started as a standing archer but moved to a wheelchair. Her first international competition was the 2018 Para-archery European Circuit in Olbia, Italy. She missed out on being selected for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. At the 2024 Australia Para National Archery Championships, she won the gold medal in Compound Women's Open event. At the 2024 Paris Paralympics, she lost in the round of sixteen in the Women's individual compound open. Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple (cerebral) sclerosis (MS), also known as encephalomyelitis disseminata or disseminated sclerosis, is the most common demyelinating disease, in which the insulating covers of nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord are damaged. This damage disrupts the ability of parts of the nervous system to transmit signals, resulting in a range of signs and symptoms, including physical, mental, and sometimes psychiatric problems. Specific symptoms can include double vision, blindness in one eye, muscle weakness, and trouble with sensation or coordination. Jonathon Milne
Jonathon Milne is an Australian Paralympic archer. In April 2015 he won the National Para Championships, held in Melbourne. He represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics where he won a bronze medal. Milne qualified for the 2020 Summer Paralympics but failed to win a medal. Personal Jonathon Milne was born on 25 January 1986. On 23 December 2012, while swimming with his wife Sarah at Avoca Beach on the New South Wales Central Coast, Milne broke his neck diving into the ocean, leaving him paralysed from the chest down. Sarah dragged him to shore. He was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney. He spent the next five and a half months there and the Royal Rehabilitation Hospital in Ryde. He completed a Certificate III in carpentry at TAFE in 2012, but now works full-time at the Abbey Archery store in Castle Hill, New South Wales. The Mixed team compound open is one of three team events held in the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, France. It contains twelve teams of one man and one woman, the ranking round having been held on 29 August and the knockout stage on 31 August.
