Allan Prell
Allan V. Prell (September 20, 1937 – December 10, 2016) was a former WBAL talk show host. Career He was ranked among “the Heavy Hundred” (top) talk radio hosts from 1999 to 2001 by Talkers Magazine. Talkers Magazine February issue 1999-2000-2001 Prell earned a dedicated audience for his outspoken liberal views and sarcastic debates with callers who disagreed with him. His caustic one-liners and humorous hang ups were considered daring at the time, but are now commonly replicated by more conservative talk show personalities like Mark Levin. Prell is a two-time winner of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Journalism, as well as numerous awards from the Associated Press. Mark Reed Levin (; born September 21, 1957) is an American lawyer, author, and radio personality. He is the host of syndicated radio show '' The Mark Levin Show'', as well as ''Life, Liberty & Levin'' on Fox News. Joe Pyne
Joe Pyne (December 22, 1924 – March 23, 1970) was an American radio and television talk show host, who pioneered the confrontational style in which the host advocates a viewpoint and argues with guests and audience members. He was an influence on other major talk show hosts such as Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, Wally George, Alan Burke, Chris Matthews, Morton Downey Jr., Bob Grant, and Michael Savage. Biography Joseph Pyne was born in Chester, Pennsylvania. His father, Edward Pyne, was a bricklayer; his mother, Catherine, was a housewife. Pyne graduated from Chester High School in 1942 and immediately enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He saw combat in the South Pacific, where he earned three battle stars. In 1943, during a Japanese bombing attack, he was wounded in the left knee; he earned a Purple Heart as a result of his injuries. WACA (AM)
WACA is a Spanish news/talk formatted broadcast radio station licensed to Laurel, Maryland, serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. It is owned by Alejandro Carrasco, through licensee ACR Media, Inc. 900 AM is a Canadian and Mexican clear-channel frequency. History From 1965 to the early 1980s, the station (then WLMD) broadcast a succession of formats in English; several radio personalities began their careers with the station. Before 1969, WLMD was a MOR (Middle Of The Road) formatted radio station and held to the model created by WMAL and WBAL in Washington and Baltimore, respectively. Its dismal ratings, primarily due to being a relatively low power AM station only broadcasting during the day with a poor coverage area, led to a format change beginning in 1975. WBAL (1090 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Baltimore, Maryland, and owned by the broadcasting division of Hearst Communications. Airing a news/ talk radio format, WBAL broadcasts on a Class A clear-channel frequency, with 50,000 watts from a transmitter facility in Randallstown, Maryland. Listeners in and around Baltimore can also hear the station on FM translator station W268BA at 101.5 MHz. The station shares its studios and offices with sister stations WBAL-TV (channel 11) and WIYY (97.9 FM) on Television Hill in Baltimore's Woodberry neighborhood. WBAL and WIYY are the only two radio stations owned by Hearst, which is primarily a publishing and television company.
