Ali Mustafa (footballer)
Ali Mustafa is a Bruneian former national football player who is currently head coach of the Brunei national under-17 team. Playing career Ali was a midfielder for the Bruneian representative team than played in the Malaysian leagues in the mid-90s. He served as backup to the likes of Said Abdullah, Rosli Liman and Rosaidi Kamis. Coaching career After earning his coaching badges, Ali became head coach of Wijaya in 2003, then QAF in 2004. His tenure lasted more than a decade until his team left the Brunei Super League in 2015, but not before lifting three straight titles from 2005-06 to 2009-10. He subsequently found work with Brunei's governing body of football, NFABD, as the coach of the national under-15s in 2015. For the 2016 season, Ali coached the Tabuan U17 team in the Brunei Premier League. They replaced the Tabuan U18s led by Kwon Oh-son which became Tabuan U21 in the Brunei Super League. 2010 AFC Challenge Cup Qualification
The 2010 AFC Challenge Cup qualification phase saw five teams advance to the finals to join three automatic qualifiers in the final tournament in Sri Lanka. 2006 AFC Challenge Cup
The 2006 AFC Challenge Cup was held between 1 and 16 April 2006 in Bangladesh. Sixteen teams were split into four groups, the top two in each group qualifying for the quarterfinals, and from then on a straight knockout contest. There was no qualification stage. The cup winner was Tajikistan. The fair play award was won by Sri Lanka and Tajik Ibrahim Rabimov won the most valuable player award. AFC Challenge Cup
The AFC Challenge Cup was an international football competition for Asian Football Confederation (AFC) member countries that were categorised as "emerging countries" in the "Vision Asia" programme. It was created by former AFC president Mohammed Bin Hammam as the AFC's plan for a continent-wide programme to raise the standards of Asian football. The AFC Challenge Cup was created for teams to experience playing in a continental competition, with the possibility to win an AFC trophy and potentially discover new talents. The 2023 Brunei Super League was the ninth season of the Brunei Super League, the top association football, football league in Brunei since its establishment in 2012. The league began in March and concluded in November, contested by 16 teams. Kwon Oh-son
Kwon Oh-son (born February 3, 1959) is a Korean football defender who played for South Korea in the 1980 Asian Cup. He also played for Seoul Metropolitan Government, FC Seoul (then known as Lucky-Goldstar Hwangso) and Ulsan Hyundai (then known as Hyundai Horangi). As a manager, he had managed Seoul Metropolitan Government, before moving to Brunei to coach various national teams since 2007. The Brunei Premier League () is the second tier of the football pyramid of Brunei. It was Brunei's top-tier football league until 2012, when the Brunei Super League was created. The Premier League falls under the management of the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam.
